So so bad

It was really busy today 4th Feb. Parking the slow service, the food was truly dreadful. Huge menu choices for vegan, but aside from the gravy, it was almost inedible. I had the vegan soy roast, my husband had the vegan nacho burger. Everything on the roast was microwaved or bone dry and flavourless. The vegan cauliflower cheese was awful. The cabbage inedible. The vegan roast comes with pancake instead of a Yorkshire pudding and although this has a good flavour, it had been microwaved and so had gone rock hard (like bread does if you microwave it). The poor man at the bar where people paid because you couldn’t get served at the table, was issuing apology after apology to disgruntled customers. It’s hard to understand why they were so busy, poor food, exceptionally slow service, and so many better offers in Frome.

Stairway to Heaven

Extensive menu choices for vegetarians and vegans. Had never had a vegan steak before. Tasty but could have done with some sort of sauce as it is quite dry. Chips were superb. Partner had the beetroot wellington which she rated very highly.
Venue is the sort of place that Escher would have designed after a night on the absinthe; it is maze of rooms and staircases. Quirky and utterly fabulous. Disappointingly small number of vegan desserts; ice cream or sorbet.
It is a great place to come for vegans and non-vegans alike. Not so great if you don't want to be surrounded by cooked meat.

Pros: Great range of vegan options, Quirky and novel venue

Cons: Small dessert range

Lush wood-fired pizzas

The Old Bath Arms offers a full and extensive vegan menu with pizzas, steak, tapas and more.

We were really impressed with the fresh, wood-fired pizzas. Although not the cheapest, they were delicious, big and definitely felt worth the money.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

so much choice

Ask for the separate vegan menu (which is massive). So many options of pizzas, pastas, steaks, roasts, tapas, desserts and more. Nice location and building.

Pros: lots of options, location, building

‘Plant-based Steak’!

Can’t remember the last time I ordered a steak with ‘blue cheese’ sauce, in a restaurant. The steak was good but the sauce was lovely. My husband had a burger, which was delicious.
They have a separate plant-based menu with pizzas and tapas options.

Pros: Extensive menu, Flexibility. Open to make adaptations , Nice old building

Cons: A bit expensive
