Rubbish - Edit
You’d think any chef worth their salt would want to be creative and accommodating but alas, this place was just rubbish. Microwaved rice, tasteless slop, minimal veg… uninteresting, uninventive, poor quality.

Not great - Edit
Tried the vegetable curry whilst walking the Cumbria Way. At best I can describe it as a jar of curry sauce with some tomato, raw onion and tiny pieces of courgette swimming in it. Microwaved rice to match. Shame because it is a beautiful pub and the meat options that were coming out looked way better. It has a falafel burger on the menu too if you want to try your luck.

Disappointing - Edit
I was pleased to see on a review on here that the Oddfellows Arms had a separate vegan menu so was really disappointed when I stayed there recently that they don’t have this and there are no vegan items listed. The main options were felafel related (come on, try harder!) or a vegetable curry. My friend went for the mushroom burger and there was no vegan cheese alternative so she literally got a mushroom in a bread roll for £14!
Read moreThe curry was nice enough but nothing ground breaking.
What was really disappointing was the fact we had contacted them several times to request vegan and gluten free options and they failed to deliver.
The staff dealing with the breakfasts were really good and made sure we had enough to eat and went out of their way to ensure we had vegan milk and spread but had only been informed the night before about our diets.
Avoid this place until they improve their vegan choices.
Pros: Breakfast staff
Cons: Expensive, Very little choice , Unresponsive to our prior communication

Post C-19 lockdown - Edit
Very friendly staff, sadly underestimated how busy they’d be (even with reduced, socially distanced dining). Long wait time but food was good.
