773 New North Rd, Mt Albert, Auckland, New Zealand, 1023

Mostly vegan cafe in the Mt Albert YMCA and Community Centre with focus on whole food and community. Caters for primarily anti-inflammatory lifestyle eating - everything is grain-free and gluten-free. A cabinet is teeming with raw treats such as cacao raspberry tart and maple vanilla walnut tart. Savory vegan items include items such as curried buckwheat, lasagna replacing pasta with pumpkin slices, pumpkin gnocchi with pesto, tomato pasta, and roasted vegetable lettuce wraps with the cashew cream aioli. Non vegan items are one dish with eggs and dairy milk for coffee. The decor is bright with disabled access and open doors leading to a child friendly outdoor area among veggie and herb community plant boxes. Open Tue-Sat 9:00am-2:00pm.

A Jewel - Edit

Actually deserves 5 stars but happy cow has a silly criteria.

Interesting and nutritious vegan Gluten free wholefoods in a non-pretentious setting served with love. Reasonably priced compared to many places.

Mostly vegan except for maybe one thing.

Pros: Vegan, GF, wholefoods

Cons: none

Great vege food - Edit

Unexpedrdly great place for whole foods, just as it should be for the YMCA in showing how important good food is for health, great options and local I'll be back.

Pros: Great plant based whole food eats and treats.

Cons: not well enough advertised!
