Good, honest, home-cooked pub classics

Since I gave up meat, I've noticed that the menu offering for non-meat-eaters in many pubs and restaurants can feel like a bit of an afterthought. But at The New Mason's Arms, there's a dedicated and varied section on the menu for vegetarians and vegans, themed around pub classics in line with the rest of the menu, including three vegan selections. It's refreshing, as a vegetarian, to visit a pub where you actually feel spoilt for choice - and at the New Mason's Arms, I did.

I had the broccoli and cheese bake, which was served with chips and peas. It was a generous, home-cooked portion, and I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. My wife and son both had the vegetarian lasagne, which they both recommended. The salad which accompanied it looked fresh and inviting, and it came with garlic bread on the side.

It's nice to find a pub offering tasty, home-cooked food, giving such clear thought to the meat-free choices on its menu. I'm sure we will be back in the future.
