Spoilt for choice with vegan lunch options - Edit
It was an absolute treat to come across this cafe. A whole host of vegan options (basically everything on the menu can be vegan). The banana blossom 'fish' and chips with tartar sauce and mushy peas was spot on. I didn't try any of the cakes, pastries or shakes on this occasion but they looked delicious. An excellent variety of options for tea and cake, a light lunch or a substantial hot meal.

Not to be missed north east vegan cafe! - Edit
We regularly make the trip up to Cullen just to visit the New Denver. The food is always super tasty, service is really welcoming and friendly and they're also very helpful with allergies (nut allergy in particular for me). Always love whatever we have and look forward to a wee chat too! Never had a bad meal here, but particular favourites have been the breakfast benny, full breakfast and special tacos. Always worth giving the specials a try and getting a cake to takeaway for later. You won't regret it. Plus the new vegan milkshakes are incredible!

Jewel in a NorthEast vegan desert - Edit
Called in here on our Speyside/Moray Coast walk. Good coffee, good cake, good banter. Started with lattes: Lions Mane and Beetroot. Then Thai and Bhaji wraps with chips. Then cakes with coffee and some walnut and pear scones for the road.
Read moreThe place was clean, smart and inviting. No dogs, which gets a bonus mark from me. Menu extensive and it all looked tasty. Our food was delicious. All vegan, but they do offer a dairy milk option which is a survival strategy as I don’t think any of the other customers were vegan. Service was great, super helpful. Go and try it for yourself!
Pros: Good menu, Delicious food , Grand vibe
Cons: Plastic plants

Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed your visit and we hope to see you again soon in our little oasis - PS no plastic plants, they are all real - just very well looked after!

Not sure how we could have missed this. What a treat! Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, fabulous home cooked food and so many options to choose from. I had the coronation chickpea bagel, a perfect combination of creamy chickpeas and a blend of tangy spices. My husband had the FLT - he’s not vegan but said it was the best ‘BLT’ he’d eaten. We shared a portion of skin on fries which were crisp outside and fluffy inside. No room for dessert - the portions are generous - but we’ll definitely be back. I need to work my way through the menu! Can’t recommend this highly enough.

Lovely wee cafe - Edit
We drove up from Aberdeen to try the ND after hearing great reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff on arrival. Mostly vegan menu (with the option of dairy milk or cheese). We both had the soup which was cauliflower today. My partner opted for the garlic mushroom & cheese toastie (i tried it and it was absolutely delicious) while I went for the coronation chickpea sandwich. I’d probably have liked a bit more sauce & a bit more curry flavour but it was jam-packed so no complaints. We’d have liked to try the cakes or dessert but we were just too full. All the more reason to return and try more menu options in the near future. It was pretty busy with a few customers being turned away so if you’re travelling specifically to eat here, i’d book a table in advance.
Read more* update on previous review June ‘24 - another visit yesterday and tried the fish tacos, pizza special & skin on fries - all really good. Have added photos of updated menu.

Lovely sweet treats - Edit
We came across a stall for the New Denver at a food event in Nairn. We bought a cherry chocolate cake (amazing, one of the best desserts I’ve ever had), a caramel scone and a Battenberg slice. The staff were very friendly. Will go and visit their cafe soon to see what else they have!

Vegan options for everything - Edit
Staff were lovely. You can tell this place would like to be vegan but can't because of the location. Vegan options for everything and all their takeaway items are vegan. I had Thai fritter salad and it was tasty. Also got scones and sausage rolls to take away and they were great too.

Great space. - Edit
Large space on a corner aspect in beautiful Cullen. Offers and serves dairy cheese and dairy milk but most items are vegan. Delicious mushroom soup but arrived cool in an already cold cafe on what was a hot sunny day.

Thank you for your review. I however disagree with 3 stars just because our cafe was cool on a hot day!
Read moreYour soup was reheated at your request half way through your meal and you were happy enough when we discussed how I made the soup at the end of your visit. A shame one small business owner to another feels the need to leave such a low score.

You have me mixed up with someone else because I didn’t ask you to warm up my soup I ate mine as it was. Plus the cafe was cold not cool. And we didn’t discuss how you made your soup.
Read moreThree isn’t a low score it’s middling meaning there’s room for improvement. And seeing how you have responded to my review and mixed me up with someone else who seems to have also thought your soup was delivered to the table cold, I’d say there is definitely room for improvement.

We can agree to disagree! Being a small family run business we are aware of all customer orders etc and we pride ourselves on high standards. Unfortunately your view isn’t the same as many others but we are all entitled to our own opinions 😊.
