Delicious

We spent 2 nights here during our stay in LP and loved it. There are many clearly marked vegan dishes on the menu, I didn't get to try them all during my stay. The chef is German and super knowledgeable about veganism & was kind enough to offer us extra food if we wanted. However, the serving staff were less knowledgeable and often confused about what was/wasn't vegan.

The fresh pressed juices are the best! They also have quite an extensive organic veggie farm that they grow a lot of the produce on - from farm to table!

Amazing food

Such delicious food! We got the fresh spring rolls, the Lao street food mix and a Buddha bowl to share. It was more than enough food and it was all incredibly delicious- such beautiful flavours and textures. It’s pricey but the quality makes it worth it. Also the resort is beautiful which is a bonus- including access to a river, beach, pool and huts to relax in (I think is ok for not staying guests as you get welcomed at reception with a drink and map to explore and we were clear about coming to visit the restaurant)

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Incredible food , Beautiful setting

Cons: Expensive , Staff don’t know which menu items are vegan , Polystyrene containers for take away

Loved the food and settings!

I had the opportunity to try the vegan options at Namkahn EcoLodge and I have to say it was an excellent experience! The vegetables are all organic and come from their own farm! You have the option to pick them by yourself and then the chef will cook them for you! The staff is lovely and the location is amazing. You can enjoy healthy and delicious food with a view over the Namkahn River! They also have accommodation and next time I will visit Luang Prabang I will definitely stay there!

I am not giving 5 stars because the app only allows 5 star ratings for purely vegan restaurants - I would definitely give the 5 stars to the Namkhan Team!

Thank you for this great experience 🌱

Quirky charm

My partner and I celebrated New Years at Namkhan.
Our food options were different from the day to day menu because of it being event but it was so delicious! Definitely would recommend.

We contacted them they day before new years and got a reply immediately back saying they could cater for us.
The majority of the sides, canapés were vegan and the soup and dessert were already vegan too. They created additional dishes - our main and recreated the sides that weren’t made. The food was complex and thought out. With vegan food being promoted to non-vegans.

There was a mix up with front of house staff around some food but as we settled in we noticed how attentive staff - including the manager, event manager and chef were. Often they came and checked in on us independent of each other to ensure we were happy - so much good quality food was provided and the chef shared he was so happy to have 2 vegans at the event (he has previously owned 2 vegan restaurants in Hamburg for 10yrs).
Loved speaking with them all and really created a fun joyful vibe that is a little eclectic and quirky.
We had the best new years with them all and loved the music, traditional dance performance and then drinks and dancing later. Very much would recommend for the food but can’t see how you wouldn’t have a wonderful experience as they really create such a welcoming inclusive community.

At the time of writing the chef had been there for 5 weeks and has already made positive veganised changes to the menu. As it is developing would be great to have vegans to experience, provide constructive feedback and support them in further developing their vegan menu and stance. #Veganuary
