Vegan Sushi Paradise in South Tahoe - Edit
Naked Fish in South Tahoe is a veggie lover's delight! The vegan omakase sushi rolls are both creative and delicious. Just let your waiter know you're vegan, and the chef will craft a wonderful omakase experience based on your preferences. The restaurant's dedication to catering to vegans is truly impressive. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Read morePros: Omakase style dining, Tofu appetizer (just ask for vegan), Veggie section of the menu
Cons: Nothing labeled vegan, Long wait, Tables close together

Amazing! - Edit
We sat at the sushi bar which I highly suggest, all the chefs were really friendly and so nice! They just made us anything vegan, I have no idea what rolls we had because they aren’t on the menu, he personalized everything for us. We will be back!

Nice spot! - Edit
This is good vegan sushi for a non vegan spot. The options are creative, flavorful, and beautifully done. The ingredients taste extremely high quality and fresh. I got the Ultimate Veggie Roll, the cucumber roll, and the Omakase Veggie (chef's choice).

Multiple Vegan Options - Edit
The staff was really friendly and welcoming. There are a couple of vegan options scattered around the menu (Edamame in the appetizers, House and Seaweed Salads, etc.). The best section to check out is the Veggie Rolls though, which had four great options. We tried three of them.
Read more1) Japanese Veggie has avocado, cucumber, gobo, sprouts, and kanpyo. It's a great variety of stuff that makes for a much tastier roll than a boring old cucumber or avocado roll. The menu says that it comes with a side of Wasabi Aioli, which is not vegan, but they were happy to leave it off for us.
2) Omakase is a "chef's choice" which incorporates different things depending on what's in season. When we tried it there was avocado, cucumber, micro greens, carrots, and what we think was pickled beets or something similar.
3) Tempura Veggie has sweet potato, onion, carrot, and bok choy. The crunch from the tempura batter is really good. This was the favorite for our group.
Covid Note: none of the staff here wore masks.
Pros: multiple vegan options

Amazing food, service and tunes - Edit
Okay, so you wouldn't necessarily think a restaurant named after fish as a place with great veggie food... you would be very wrong. This was my first time eating out since the pandemic and it wasn't just great, it was an amazing and memorable experience.
Read moreThere's a section on the menu of veggie maki (all of which are vegan), as well as a few other dishes on the menu like udon w/ veggie tempura. Several interesting, creative maki in addition to the usual cucumber and avocado rolls.
I ordered the Omakase (chef's choice) Veggie and was treated to a huge, delicious roll topped with a vegetable I've never eaten before. Some sort of locally-grown succulent, unexpectedly both crunchy and soft, and covered in dew-like crystals. I kid you not! How many times have you gone out and gotten to try a new vegetable by surprise? What a treat!
Nice sake list with several nigori choices including Sho Chiku Bai by the class.
Friendly, quick service. Open late, especially on busy weekends. These guys definitely hit the ground running now that things are opening up.
Loud, lively, and great tunes! So refreshing to hear any music that's NOT rock oldies in Tahoe. Felt like I was in a hip sushi joint in the bay area.
Looking forward to going back!
Pros: Creative maki, Friendly service, Great tunes
Cons: Long wait for table, esp. in peak tourist season, No tofu dishes or choice as "meat", Lively & loud (if that's not for you)

Never Again - Edit
My vegan sushi was loaded with fish and fish eggs by “accident”. Staff do not know what a vegan is. Rude staff.
