Really tasty food, reasonably priced, thoughtful service, cute and cosy - Edit
It’s been over two months since I ate here but the food made such a lasting impression that I came back to review it! You get a lot for your money, the portion size was perfect for this hungry breastfeeding mama! Really tasty food, we drove miles to come and eat here and weren’t disappointed! Wholesome vegan food, not your standard junk. Will def come back!

Cosy little cafe - Edit
Only just spotted this place as we were driving by on holiday, so made a bid to come back another day. Had a lovely tea and brownie/flapjack. The man I spoke to was so pleasant and I hope this place lasts a very long time in a town full of only non vegan places!

So worth a visit - Edit
We recently visited after seeing this vegan place existed and it was so worth the trip. We arrived after lunch time so the daily special was gone but never mind, they rustled up a meatball wrap for me and a special falafel bowl for my partner that has special dietary needs beyond vegan. It was a glorious October day and we got to sit in the backyard. So tranquil. Glad we came and had lunch here.

Unexpected gem - Edit
Amazing tea room/cafe serving home made vegan daily specials, sandwiches and deserts - had pasta bake & salad followed by raw carrot cake and a chat with the owner. Not just the only vegan place for miles but also some of the best food I've had in the area generally. Great coffee too. Worth going out of your way for!

I’ve wanted to go here for ages and it exceeded my expectations. I had an onion bhaji wrap, mango smoothie and mango cheesecake and all were absolutely delicious. I really like that everything is homemade and there are a lot of healthy options. The owner was also lovely. Will definitely be back.

Lovely little cafe in centre of Dymchurch - Edit
Visited this cafe at the weekend. We shared a Buddha bowl and had the pasta bake and little bowls of the soup of the day. All the food was fresh and delicious. My partner opted for the chia seed and coconut pudding and I had the chocolate cheesecake. Only remembered to take a photo after I’d already tucked in!

Fantastic Find - Thank You Happy Cow - Edit
We visited The Mortar And Pestle - Vegan Tearoom after seeing it on Happy Cow. It's easy to find on the main street in Dymchurch and very cosy and welcoming. There is an amazing choice of food on the menu and the owner, Ian was very friendly and helpful. Whilst we were there it got very busy but Ian managed extremely well and kept calm throughout.
Read moreWhen our food arrived it was fantastic, Lin had the Thai green curry and I had nut loaf balls in a wrap. After the mandatory you taste mine and I'll taste yours we both agreed how good the food was. We took two portions of brownie home for tea and that was equally as good.
There's so much choice on the menu we are making the 120 mile round trip again this week to try something else! If you are out for the day and are within 50 miles of Dymchurch it's really worth the drive to get your lunch.
Pros: Choice of food, The quality of the food, Welcoming and friendliness of the owner
Cons: There are no cons!

Perfect coffee and cake - Edit
What a gem of a place, quite unexpected in a seaside resort. Ian was fabulous and we were glad to hear that he had a “sell out day” however we still had full choice of cakes. The coffee is cafetière which was lovey to share. We had fridge cake and cheese cake which are both to be highly recommended. We had envy when people around us had the carrot cake and brownie so that will be sampled on the next trip.
Read moreIan thoughtfully put together a Buddha bowl for a couple that came just before closing and that also looked filling and delicious.
Service is thoughtful and considered so don’t be expecting Starbucks speed of delivery.
Will definitely return when down at the coast.
Pros: Delicious food, Great service
Cons: Too many desserts to choose from!

Sun trap garden - Edit
Sweet little tea shop serving a variety of healthy dishes. The sweet potato and aubergine tagine was lovely. Would have liked slightly larger portions but I'm a bit greedy like that. We liked that we could bring our dogs through into the garden, although I would not have been so keen in rough weather conditions. Worth a visit if you are out that way.

Wonderful Afternoon tea - Edit
Such a lovely tea room. Ian prepared a special afternoon tea for my friend and I which consisted of a selection of finger sandwiches and wraps, delicious cakes with cream and jam, protein balls, chocolate tiffins and other treats, fruit and unlimited tea and coffee. Everything was delicious and fresh, and you could see how much care he puts into the place. We couldn't have asked for more and can't wait to come back!

What a lovely owner and experience, food 10/10 - Edit
My partner and I had just finished our day at the Port Lympne zoo and looked up vegan food nearby. Only a 10 minute drive away, and when we arrived we received a warm welcome. Lovely intimate feel to the place, food was very tasty, and the owner was lovely and generous. I personally recommend the Dal and the Victoria sponge cake with cashew butter and jam.
