You have to like junk food

The menu was extensive and I'm certain that those who like traditional pub meals would feel like in heaven. Also a great place to enjoy your meal on a sunny day, as they have a lovely beer garden in the back, and a sweet Russian Blue cat.

We arrived at 12:30 p.m. and they already ran out of mash, which was a shame. My bf had the creamy mushroom pie and he was more or less happy with his choice. I tried his meal and liked it. I'd have happily switched it for my Tofish in an instant as it lacked any taste whatsoever. It was supposed to be served with a lemon wedge but the lemon never arrived and so I used some of the gravy my bf got with the pie, and a hot sauce, to add at least some taste to it.

Seeing all the positive reviews, perhaps it was simply bad luck or a poor choice of mine. I'd still recommend the place since I appreciate it being fully vegan and with the wide choice there has to be the right meal for every one, unless you really do not fancy western meals.

Delicious

One of our favourite places to eat in Canterbury. The best burgers I’ve had as a vegan and a lot of other things to choose from on the menu. The vegan cocktails are good, too!

Pros: Lots of options

The food was disappointing

Nice pub with friendly staff and good beer. But let down by its menu. If your coming for the food there are no signs of a chef here as all the food appears to be shop bought. Here you can eat out what you could eat in. So maybe that's just vegan pub grub. Shame it could not be more adventurous.

Pros: Nice pub good beer

Cons: The menu

Wow! Next level vegan, exceeded all of my expectations!

Just can't get over this place. The food is phenomenal and the options are ingenious! They have choices on the menu that I haven't found anywhere else. I am so extremely pleased that I came across this place during my stay in Canterbury. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was out of this world! I'd book a trip to Canterbury again just to eat here and enjoy the lovely atmosphere of the place. I can't stop telling all of my friends how much I loved it here and how great their menu is. It is an absolute must for anyone to pop in and enjoy this wonderful pub. Can't wait to come back and try a few more items on the menu. This place really is ever so special :)

Pros: Fantastic menu, Friendly staff, Beautiful atmosphere

Everything was extremely tasty and "life like". Prawn balls, halloumi, donner meat. The chips were amazing. Portion sizes very generous. Deep fried Oreos! Genius! Garlic mayo-finger licking great! A large selection of vegan alcohol of every kind and variety.

Lovely deco , really welcoming - including our slightly muddy dog. Ordered a sharing platter which was really REALLY huge. Plus , a lovely burger. Perfectly cooked. Again very generous. A great range a beers. Plus cocktails. Thank you all very much.

Pros: Fabulous menu - great portions. , Genuine friendly staff. , It’s just a pub - but for Vegans.

Cons: Makes other lunches out seem a bit lame.

Delicious! Needs a larger gluten free menu

A really lovely vegan pub with a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious, we had a really lovely Linda McCartney burger with salsa, nachos and fries which we all LOVED. Gluten free options are available here but the gluten free menu needs to be extended as they are extremley limited in comparison to the normal menu.

Pros: Everything is vegan so you can dine with absolutel

Cons: Very limited gluten free menu, needs to extend. , Lots of items weren't available

Great pub

I have been here several times and I always leave very happy. They serve great food and they are an example for other pubs out there. I really like their burgers which you can customise if you want. Friendly staff and when the sun is out you can eat your delicious vegan food in their garden. They also have cats, so if you are lucky you get to pet one :)

Pros: Amazing food, Friendly staff, They have pub-cats

amazing menu

extensive menu of amazing vegan junk food: burgers, fish and chips, pies, battered sausage :) (Why don't more places sell battered vegan sausage?!?)

if i lived in canterbury, this would become my local pub.

Pros: amazing menu, friendly staff, dogs allowed

Cons: dessert portions could be bigger

Fantastic and amazing food

This is a fantastic place, not only is the food vegan but so is all the drinks. They will even bake a vegan cake for you, which is absolutely delicious (I ordered a vegan chocolate cake for my daughters birthday) which was massive and delicious. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly.
I highly recommend this place, they also have a great beer garden in the back.

Friendly pub, good food

Great relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.
The menu included quite a range of burgers, hot dogs and a kebab. Tofish and chips too. In fact most of the mains were served with chips and a side salad. They also had panini and bar snacks (ten acre crisps, vego bars, vegan wagon wheels aka Round up!).
I enjoyed the hot dog and also shared a side of coleslaw - a proper homemade version which I really enjoyed.

Pros: Food AND drinks all vegan, Generous portions and reasonably priced , Nice atmosphere

Cons: Limited tables (book or a drink at the bar)

Best vegan junk food I've ever had!

I've visited the monument a few times with friends and family, and I'm always satisfied.
Great bar staff, selection of drinks and snacks too.
The main menu has so much to choose from since opening early in the year. Burgers, hot dogs, panini's and a few special choices that always leave me full and content.
Highly recommend the Döner Kebab.

Pros: Excellent food, Low price, Wide choice + GF options

Vegan Junk Food

We were visiting Canterbury for the day and went off to find this place as it sounded good. However it really did not live up to expectations in terms of food.

All the burgers are simply soya protein so no variety in taste and the seitan was basically deep fried dry greasy strips served in a dry pitta....not at all appetising.

A real shame as they could create something good here if they took the time to actually cook fresh food and use full flavours, which is what vegan food should be made of!

Pros: Nice garden and pub

Cons: Food lacked taste

excellent

I'm vegan and took my omni husband, the food was delicious, although I'd have swapped the halloumi salad I had for the hubbys battered prawnz! Staff are lovely and friendly, can't wait to go back with the rest of the family.

Pros: everything is vegan, so I dont have to think about

Cons: none that I found.

Hi Veganhippychic! I'm a bit confused as you state that you're a vegan yet you ordered the halloumi salad and yearned for the battered prawns? I'm thinking about going to the Monument soon and I was just wondering does this mean EVERYTHING is vegan - such as vegan halloumi and vegan prawns? My omni-boyfriend will probably want something that he would consider 'real' cheese and mea/fish. Hope you can clear this up for me, thank you.

Great vegan food and drink

It's great that Canterbury now has a vegan pub. The Italian burger was excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. A good selection of beers. We ate in the large garden, a pleasant space. We were too full to try the desserts.

Pros: Excellent food, Good selection of vegan drinks, Friendly and welcoming.

Lovely friendly vegan pub

Really liked this place, tried it on a Saturday lunchtime and it was quite quiet around 12:15 but did get busier. I was glad to have the choice of seats in the lovely beer garden as not all tables have parasols and I'm a sun-hater :) The garden was really pleasant and quiet, a proper garden with border plants and a friendly cat (who didn't pester for food).

I had the battered 'prawns', chips, and peas, it was great. My friend's poppers and gravy were lovely too. And the torte and cheesecake for dessert were fantastic! Mocktails not bad value (2 for £7 then) and a free tap water dispenser was appreciated. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menus.

Pros: Delicious food, Good selection of food, Lots of seating inside and out

Cons: Struggling to think of any - more parasols maybe?!

Friendly staff, fully vegan alcohol and junk food = win!

We went on a Tuesday evening and they had a really fun quiz. We had some drinks and food. The mexican burger and seitan doner were both fantastic and their cheesy chips were to die for! Only just opened but would be great for them to get a desert menu together at some point.

Pros: Friendly staff , Good Prices, Great Location

Cons: If not into fake meat then their food may not be f
