Flavorful and healthy. I came for Sunday brunch, and there were many vegan options. I chose the bowl with black beans, rice, soy chorizo, tofu scramble on a bed of raw spinach. Pico de Gallo and chipotle dressing added some kick. Sipping hot green jasmine tea, in the spirit of Modern Tea Room. What a warm, welcoming place for this wandering vegan!

Best vegan joint in the AV! - Edit
This place has the most vegan options of any restaurant out in the AV, and it’s so yummy. Their drinks are amazing. The new(ish) expanded breakfast menu is great, so many options. I love their burritos (breakfast and otherwise). Their fake egg salad is so good. Everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious. The staff are always friendly and overall a great vibe. Highly recommend!

We had the vegan modern bowls, an oat milk coconut chai, and a lemonade. The food and service were great. We’ll definitely come here again when we’re in the area.

The service is always friendly and the food is good. I highly recommend the vegan French toast and the vegan breakfast burrito. The teas and chia pudding are also excellent.
Read moreI'm not a fan of the black Bean vegan sausage or the tofu scramble. They go heavy on the turmeric in the tofu scramble which makes it taste bitter. I chalk it up to a non-vegan chef trying to make a vegan dish that they've probably never tasted. I usually get the vegan French toast a la carte.

I know it could've been better, but they were super busy so my sandwich was served cold. They're popular for their tea and there was a market thing going on outside, so I understand why it was slow. I would def go back, but order something else!! Not much substance in the "get in my belly" - so pricey for the food I got.

We chose The Modern Tea Room after seeing it on Happy Cow. Although they aren’t totally vegan, they really work with you to help you stay with your eating choices. We were there for lunch, and it was very busy. The servers acted like we were the only ones in the room, never rushing us in any way. Courtney and Makaela both answered our questions, got us extra napkins, and even took our picture when we asked. The Get In My Belly sandwich was amazing. The Avo Avo sandwich was good,too. The individual tea pots kept our English Breakfast tea hot. We will definitely go back.

If I could give this place 5 stars I would, but the constraints of the app won’t allow for that. I cannot recommend this place enough. There are SO many vegan options. I’ve been many times and I’m always trying something new.

Not like how most restaurants offer a "vegan alternative" where you basically just omit dairy and meat from regular menu items (and pay the same price or even extra), but actual vegan meals that a vegan can eat when they are hungry and feel full afterwards.
And I've been here at least 7 times now and everything is delicious.
Vegan biscuits and gravy.
Vegan sandwiches and wraps.
Vegan tofu breakfast scrambles.
Vegan tacos and burritos.
All kinds of stuff. It's great

Best vegan BBQ ever! - Edit
This is an absolute gem. The vegan BBQ jackfruit sandwich was the best vegan sandwich I’ve ever had anywhere. I have no idea how they do their jackfruit but I’ve never had anything even close to this good. I will drive here from Hermosa Beach (2.5 hours) just to eat here again. Five stars!!! LOVE IT!

If I could give it five stars I would! I had the Vegan Life Wrap and it was absolutely delicious （╹◡╹）♡ it was a little big for me but I don’t mind having it for leftovers lol I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Happy Cow doesn't allow 5 stars unless the entire menu is vegan. Fair enough, but this place has such an extensive vegan menu! Super friendly server as well! Came very close to coming back again before heading to LA even though it would have meant travelling in the wrong direction for 30 miles. Can’t wait for the day when I’m back in Lancaster and get to eat here again

Tasty Gem - Edit
I brought my omni family to this spot today and we loved it. The coffee was very tasty, although tea is their specialty. All of the dishes we tried were good and not overly-expensive. The service was timely and not pushy. I would highly recommend this spot especially if you have folk in tow who want non-veg comfort food. There is something for everyone.
