Overpriced - Underwhelming - Edit
Visited the stall at the recent Marlborough Vegan Event. Unfortunately lots of products had already sold out and we were limited on choice -- not a problem, I'm glad the event had such good turnout.
Read moreWe ended up getting two brownies at £4 each. One salted caramel and one biscoff. Besides the toppings (two small pretzel pieces and 1 biscoff biscuit respectively) the brownies were completely identical, turning an exciting and rare opportunity to enjoy some Vegan Baked goodies into a quite disappointing, underwhelming and expensive experience.
There was a 4 for £15 "deal" and I'm glad we didn't opt to go all out as it would have been much more frustrating.
The brownies were edible and far from terrible, however they weren't breathtaking and it felt like the differences were an afterthought of a probably cheap batch cooked process with an expensive price point purely because they're at a Vegan Event.
Looking online, it appears that this business regularly attends such events and I hope they are not just a travelling outfit preying on the wallets of Vegans looking to enjoy baked goods.
Pros: Edible, Vegan
Cons: Overpriced, Underwhelming, Not great tasting or texture, quite "crumbly"

Incredible 💚🌱 - Edit
We found May bakery through the Maisdatinebvegab festival and so glad we came. We went a bit nuts and bought so many cakes. The Biscoff cupcake was absolutely delightful. So was the berry crumble and we also ordered coffee and walnut cake, black forest gateau a salted caramel cake and more.!! Really gorgeous cakes.

Picked up a cookie sandwich at a Vegan market in Canterbury and it was delicious! So many options to choose from but I went for the mini egg flavour and it did not disappoint 😍

Gorgeous presentation at Chiswick vegan market - Edit
Irresistible. I tried the Bakewell cake slice as the tray bake had all gone. It was good and I liked the almondy flavor and the cherry jam in the middle. It was so big it lasted a few sittings. I’d try more of their stuff.

Huge cake selection - Edit
I picked up one of their marble cupcakes at Worcester Vegan Festival out of the huge selection that they had on offer. The cake was decent, the icing did most of the heavy lifting taste wise, the cake part itself was a little more subdued. But I would try out mote of their stuff if I saw them again.

Great selection of tasty treats - Edit
We saw The May Bakery at Newcastle vegan market and were drawn in by the impressive array of cupcakes, brownies and cakes! They had a lot of different flavours that all looked really good so it was difficult to choose. In the end we went for a Bueno cupcake and a Viennese whirl. They both looked amazing and were tasty! I wasn't blown away by the flavours so I haven't given them a 5 but I still enjoyed them.

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Edit
Absolutely loved the bakewell cake I ordered here at the Newcastle vegan festival, which was deliciously moreish. Quite possibly the best bakewell I have eaten. There were so many options to pick from I could have spent a fortune. Oh how I wish this bakery was local to me. Highly recommended.

So good - Edit
Picked up some cupcakes and they were delicious. May Bakery does lots of Stools all over the place at different vegan fares and markets. Well worth a try.

Marble cake perfection - Edit
We first sampled the delights at northern vegan festival in April this year. The marble cake was absolutely fantastic. We went to Staffordshire vegan festival a couple of weeks ago and I didn’t enjoy the cake as much. The rainbow cake was just sickly sweet and I didn’t taste any discernible flavour. A great bakery, but I will try others next time after a disappointing last experience.
