It Didn’t Stall Once - Edit
This was one of those brunches where everything clicked into place. Clearly, this was a restaurant that knew what it was doing, and it knew how to do it effectively and efficiently, but that’s not to say it was sterile or bereft of personality. Quite the opposite: the throngs of staff were warm and pleasant, the surroundings were calm and clean, and the food was equal parts delicious and satisfying. Even the children’s entertainment, which came in the form of a dystopian clown spliced with the Queen of Hearts (for Valentine’s, of course), who was distributing barely decipherable (perhaps questionable?) balloon animals, just seemed to work.
Read moreAnother massive boon to this experience, aside from the vegan espresso martinis, was the specific care and attention that I received. Initially I was unsure as to whether or not my indication of my dietary preferences had even been acknowledged, and with more than sufficient options adorning the main spread, I chose to be content with what there was. Little did I know what lay in store, as, without warning, wave after wave of plant-based offerings began to hit the table. Anyone else with good grace (or sense) may have politely informed them that the first few dishes were quite enough. This being me, however, and being emboldened by not but a few of the aforementioned cocktails, I welcomed any and all comers.
For some reason, going into this meal, I harboured serious doubts as to the enjoyment I would gain from it and whether or not it would be a worthwhile endeavour. By the end, however, I can categorically state that all my misgivings were allayed. It was a fantastic feast, one that I would be keen to replicate again in the near future.
