So so good

This picture does not do this Sabich justice. It was so so tasty. I think I accidentally ate some of the foil it was wrapped in and didn't care.

Nice people working at this small, casual restaurant, too.

Shawarma was 🔥

Had the (vegan) shawarma last night and am thinking of getting it again tonight. All the fillings cooked right and the Ma'lawah it's made on is just fantastic.

Pros: Ma'lawah, Novel cuisine

Cons: Some dishes are not vegan, Expensive

Lucky find in South Palo Alto

Was working at a nearby vote center and found this place for lunch. While the prices seem a bit high, food is fresh and looks good. Got the eggplant parm sandwich. Almost all vegan, really should just drop the hard boiled eggs and honey.

delicious food

This place is hard to find. Search around, because it is there. I am a bit worried though, as it isn't getting enough people coming in to survive. The wrap that I had was delicious. She substituted falafel for the eggs. I also tried the tahini shake sample offered, and it so surprised me that I ordered one. Also, the lady who runs the place is super nice.

The bread comes in two types: fried and baked. I went with fried the first time. I plan to try baked next.

Pros: Delicious, Falafel subsitutions for egg

Cons: Hard to find

Unique Food Homemade with Love

The owner of this place is very friendly and kind, and loves educating people about the food. She is careful to check and explain about which items are vegan or can be made vegan. I love that there is a rotating selection of wonderful baked items to supplement the standard menu. The coffee tahini shake is to die for.
Their special, the Ma’lawah bread, upon which most of the menu items are based is a heavenly flaky pastry-like bread. It’s also extremely filling. The best menu item is the sabich, who doesn’t love eggplant 😊 I recommend avoiding the falafel as they aren’t crispy enough to be considered a proper falafel.
While ma’lawah makes a wonderful treat, I wish they had more healthy alternatives such as salads in addition to the wraps.

Pros: Friendly, Homemade, Tahini Shake

Cons: Very heavy and filling, Falafels are not good

Really Good Food!

Everything I tried is so good! Everything can be ordered vegan simply by asking. The tahini date milkshakes are to die for! FYI the "Malawah Classic" isn't sandwich-esque like the other menu options.

Pros: flavor

Cons: expensive, serves eggs

great breads, yummi tahini-date shake

Fairly small lunch place that just opened in March.

When I went they were out of the eggplant for sabich, but the falafel wrap was also really good and quite different from the usual falafel pita wrap. The ma'lawah bread is fried and quite fatty, but really yummi. The sauces are schug, and amba sauce which is made with pickled mangos, adding a refreshing fruitiness. There are a lot of sides to choose from, I picked cabbage salad which was ok, and beets which I really enjoyed. The wrap wasn't cheap, but it was really large and filling.
They also have a tahini-date-cocoa shake which is delicious.

I'll definitely be back to try the lachuch bread and the sabich .

While almost everything can be made vegan, for some dishes the eggs seem to play a fairly large part. I also wasn't happy with the amount of plastic used.
