Not what it used to be

A couple of years ago the Magic Bean was the place to go for a vegetarian burger or stuffed pepper with quinoa and brown rice - the food was presented very nicely and the kitchen very clean and hygenic. I've seen this restaurant decline over the past months with dirty bathrooms and their meals are now more focussed on meats and poultry. They have had the same menu for about 10 years, never something new.

Pros: Good variety of salads, Nice veggie burgers

Cons: Dirty bathrooms, Never something new on the menu

Nothing Vegan

The only thing offered was a stuffed pepper and they'd leave off the cheese!

Good vegan options

We ate at The Magic Bean twice while in Quito. Their menu identified vegetarian dishes. We are vegan so we had to specify no cheese or butter when we ordered. The dishes we tried were tasty with generous portions.

We had the stuffed pepper without cheese, the quinoa burger, and the mushroom panini. My husband especially like the stuffed pepper.

Pros: Quality food, Friendly staff, Generous portions

Good list of vegetarian options

Good food, many options, nice environment.
Very touristy as one would expect in La Mariscal. Good service.

Nice food but expensive

A nice place in the Mariscal area but it feels very North American, and so does the prices!
I had a falafel salad and a tomate de arbol juice. It was all good and filling but there's so many other places you can go where its a lot cheaper and just as good.

Pros: Nice juices

Cons: Expensive

Delicious,

After a long day of walking, I was ready for the stuffed pepper dish at the magic bean. Fresh, pepper:stuffed with broccoli, quinoa, mushrooms, carrots,-beautiful whole sliced avocado with salad, and rice. Filling and delicious!

Pros: Delious food, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Sort of expensive
