Trip was 2nd rate until I found the Lounge

I was having a bad trip until I found the Lounge. The atmosphere here was excellent, The food was to die for and the prices were not rip off like most tourist bars and clubs. The staff were very friendly even when it got busy and they were under presure. If you dont visit this place when in Chiang Rai the your missing out.I recommend this place to everyone who will be in the area.

Pros: 1st Rate food, Very friendly staff, Very good prices

Cons: I had to leave

Our saviours

We stumbled upon The Lounge in passing, walking around Chiang Rai practically starving due to the high cost of vegan food everywhere else listed. The menu listed simple veg stir fry and curry, which we were delighted with. The owner and cook were very friendly and accommodating to us being vegan, and even told us where we could buy some cheap groceries.

We ended up returning there a few nights in a row. The cook even went to the extent of cooking us food that wasn't on the menu and gave us a little bit extra. Her Massaman tofu curry was the best we've tasted in Thailand, and at 90B it was also one of the cheapest and filling. She made a sweet and sour dish as well with rice, tons of veg, and tofu that was the best meal I've had since I started traveling.

All in all, not only are they friendly and accommodating, they play great music and have a great atmosphere, is by far the cleanest restaurant I've been in, and has some of the best food around for veggies and probably meat eaters alike.

Pros: great food and service, good booze list, cheapest in town
