Fresh, Fabulous, Friendly! - Edit
Absolutely fantastic restaurant! Stupendous food! Lost vegan in Adelaide? Come find yourself in The Lost Deli! This adorable shop in a quiet neighborhood away from the busy streets is the perfect place to lose your mind over a delicious selection of home made vegan treats. Everything on the dining menu is made in house, while the dessert cabinet is stocked with pastries and treats from local sole proprietor vegan chefs in the area. Owners are super friendly and personable and their multi-generational family business operates incredibly efficiently. I tried this Croffin treat which was a muffin shaped croissant filled with raspberry jam and was shocked by how moreish it was. As I write this review, the aroma of the gnocchi from the table next to me has gotten my appetite whetted yet again. Beautiful and delicious food, beautiful and charming location, beautiful and gracious family. Exquisite business, and I'm so lucky to be in Adelaide at the same time as these folks to experience their culinary magic.

Disappointed - Edit
Every time I’ve tried The Lost Deli, I’ve been disappointed. The food has been dry and lacks in flavour. It is overpriced and I haven’t felt welcomed the times I’ve been there. Honestly, I miss the previous owners. They were passionate and understood veganism and GF.

New favorite all vegan restaurant in Adelaide!! Amazing lovely staff and the food is sooooo delicious. All day breakfast including perfect tofu scramble, amazing pancakes. The gnocchi is sensational, green juices and coffee are perfect too. This is now my staple!

A must visit for vegans! - Edit
Contrary to info, there is a restroom on site. Have been back many times. Fantastic food, so tasty. So much flavour. Love the tofu scramble and the Buddha bowl. Will be back. Oh, and great smoothies too. It’s a beautiful small family run business.

I found it - Edit
We took a walk out here for lunch and the place lived up to its name, lost in the middle of suburbia, which was actually quite nice. We sat outside because we didn’t realise there were a whole lot of seats in an air-conditioned space behind the counter. We started with a crisp green smoothie and a sweeter mango and pineapple one, very refreshing. We shared the chicken burger and the LD burger, both requested without chutney. They were good, except they forgot to leave the chutney out of the LD. I can’t say they were cheap at $23 either, but that price is not completely out of the ordinary. The owner was very friendly, but three times offered then forgot to bring us water, no doubt very busy. I’d come here again but it is a 40-minute walk from the city, so probably not till next Adelaide visit.

What Dreams are made of. - Edit
Hubby had the cheese burger. It was without a doubt the best cheeseburger I have ever tasted. Yes, I had more than one “can I have a taste bite”. Crunchy, fluffy fries. I opted for the healthier option of tofu scramble and was not left disappointed. It had the most perfect consistency and each mouthful was savoured with relish. We both opted to have a juice to wash our lunch down with. Freshly squeezed in front of us they tasted of sunshine and summer all rolled into one. The service was friendly and the owners were genuine and obviously care greatly about their customers. We will be going back again without hesitation. Highly recommend.

Was really looking forward to it... - Edit
After an awesome mushroom burger there by the old owners, I was pumped to eat there again.
Read moreUnfortunately, what showed up on my table was a tragedy.
$18.50 for a tiny mushroom burger that has a thin pattie, iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato with Heinz’s tomato sauce? Seriously?!
It didn’t even come with any chips or a salad.
I cook better mushroom burgers for my kids and I know they aren’t worth nearly $20.
Look guys, I want to support you and all vegan outlets, but you are taking the piss...
Very disappointed.
If you want some help to improve the burger just shout. I really want you to succeed!
Pros: Nice venue, Good decor
Cons: Terrible mushroom burgers

Yummy vegan breakfast and coffee - Edit
This cafe has delicious breakfast and lunch options. We tried the Big brekkie and Parmigiana pie, the staffs were friendly and willing to help us to customize our meals without garlic & onion. There are many plant-based milk options for your coffee (e.g soy milk, oat milk, almond milk).

Find It - Edit
This is a bit of an undiscovered miracle though more are finding it these days. Easily the best place in the Norwood area though it’s not open midweek.
Read moreThe Lost Deli is located just off the parade, Norwood so not quite so hard to find as the name suggests. It’s in an attractive quiet area, being away from the Parade proper. Inside is small and can be cramped/noisy if it is busy though there is better, quieter seating outside. Not very suitable for large groups.
The food is moderate to high in price, very fresh and a good size. A real delight in taste. I’ve yet to have a better iced coffee or scrambled tofu anywhere and the chef very much knows what he is doing.
For such a small place it has a good range of options on food and drinks. Standouts are burgers, breakfasts, coffees and juices. There’s also a range of good salads. Range lowers near end of day.
Though the food is very good the service is truly outstanding. It’s attentive, friendly and does not feel forced.
The style here is a somewhat chaotic deli/café with a unique kind of décor. Overall quite attractive.

Never enough stock - Edit
Don’t get me wrong, food is good , staff are friendly, although there was a guy working there who had no shoes on which I thought is a bit odd in a place of business. The only issue is food is always sold out , constantly. You would think if there is a pattern you make a bit extra for the day but they never do. This is really disappointing and I will not be going back again.

"You MUST find The Lost Deli" - Edit
As soon as I stepped through the door I knew I was in the right place. To be honest I had trouble deciding what to have. This means I will certainly return again to enjoy their food which includes an all day breakfast. I had the Tofu scramble which was delicious and an awesome banana bread. We shared some pancakes, again a good choice. Well done guys!

What a gorgeous little cafe! With pies and pastries, cakes, slices, rolls, salads, wraps, loads of juices and smoothie choices and cooked breakfasts and lunches too.
Read moreOur hosts were so welcoming and friendly and they have even developed their own blend of mylk, specifically for those who miss cows milk. Our omni friends were impressed.
I loved the matcha liquorice latte, it was not too sweet but refreshing. Coffee was also pretty awesome.
I had a focaccia with zucchini, pumpkin, onion and pesto and it was delicious. My partner had a croissant with cheese and tomato (yes vegan) and that too was great.
The raw choc mint slice and the (favourite at the moment I am told) coconut, date, lemon and date bar were also divine.
Lovely ambience, with indoor and outdoor seating. Make this a destination if you're in town. I will definitely be visiting again next time I am in Adelaide.
