Cozy pub, two vegan options

Cute little pub! Their chickpea burger was good. The homemade vegan soup was perfect for a cold day.

Pros: Vegan options, Fireplace , Dog friendly

Cons: Limited options

Vegan options 👍

The lock inn has some vegan options on the menu. The food was very tasty (although quite expensive). We had the chickpea curry (which was very spicy, although not labled as such) and a mushroom soup, which was also tasty.

Pros: Vegan options, Tasty food

Cons: Quite expensive

Several extra vegan options, including burger, starters and sandwiches.

The curry was great, tasty and generous portion.

Nice vegan curry

Only one vegan option: a sweet potato and chickpea curry, but it was very tasty. Good atmosphere and nice upstairs seating.

Bland, expensive food

The single vegan main option is an £11 bowl of quite flavourless penne pasta in basil pesto. The vegan dessert option is a £7 chocolate brownie which they no longer offer with non-dairy ice cream and it was average. Boring, uninspiring and overpriced.

Pros: They serve food all day

Cons: Expensive, Lacking flavour

Only one vegan main

I had the penne pasta with rocket pesto as it was the only vegan main on the menu. It was decent, but a bit small for the price. They also do a vegan brownie (no vegan cream or ice cream) which is lovely.

Great find in Loch Ness!

Planning for a day trip to Loch Ness, I wasn't sure if I would find any veg-friendly places for my lunch stop -- so I was delighted to find this HappyCow listing, and quite satisfied by the actual experience as well!

The menu has clearly marked all the vegan and vegetarian items -- if you're vegan, there are a half dozen (including some surprising choices like a cassoulet and a brownie, and some less surprising like salads) -- and if you're just vegetarian, a half dozen more.

I had the hummus plate with flatbread and peppers, which was fresh, tasty, and filling. The atmosphere in the pub's indoor and outdoor dining spaces, as well as the service, were totally charming. Having these options turned my good day into a great day!

Pros: Menu clearly marks veg options, Tasty dishes, Charming atmosphere

Cons: Veg options still rather limited
