The Little Potting Shed Cafe

Brilliant little cafe with a relaxed atmosphere in the centre of Oban. We ate the homity pie and a Brie, veg bacon and cranberry toastie and they were both really good. Both were served with fresh salad, only improvement would have been a salad dressing.
The star of the show was the vegan chocolate cake...sweet, creamy, chocolatey and delicious. Massive tea selection here and good array of home baking. Gluten free, vegan and vegetarians all catered for well.

Found by a chance on , as a hungry vegan on a trip must be always prepared. We popped in whilst waiting for our ferry, in hope for some small snack, with very little expectations. It is run by a couple of very sweet people, offering nutritious meals for a great value. The offer is quite wide. We warmed up with a bowl of soup, continued with tasty wraps, and left the best for the great finale; the most amazing chocolate cake to go.

Great little place tucked away in a side street. Good choice of dishes, both veggie and vegan, and a great selection of desserts. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and absolutely delicious food. I had the Thai wrap, my wife had the pitta with houmous and falafels, our daughter had lentil soup. Very tasty. Big kudos goes to The Little Potting Shed Cafe for being one of the very few places to NOT serve salad covered in oil (ie pure fat). We all had the vegan chocolate cake for dessert. Yumski! Will definitely be back here next time we are in Oban. GO VEGAN!!

My husband and I visited Oban, and had lunch at The Little Potting Shed Cafe. There is a good selection of veggie and vegan options, including soup, sandwiches and cakes. I enjoyed the Morrocan bean wrap (vegan) and my husband had the Chili cheese wrap (veggie). Both were served perfectly grilled with a lovely salad. We also sampled the cakes on offer. I had a decadent slice of vegan chocolate cake (complete with rich fudge icing) and my husband had the blueberry lemon loaf (veggie). My husband is an omni, but even he really enjoyed the lunch and there were clean plates all round. There is an extensive tea selection, and I had a nice soya latte.

The proprietress was really friendly and was even so kind as to share some of her baking secrets with us. My husband goes to Oban occasionally for work, and has vowed to have lunch here any time he's in town. We'll definitely visit again the next time we're on the west coast!

A lovely bit of serendipity when we looking for somewhere to eat in Oban and found this cosy and friendly cafe. Great selection of vegan options. They had just opened; I hope they thrive!

We were there for holiday and found this new coffeehouse with nearly 90% vegan dishes on their menu.
