Vegan breakfast go-to spot! - Edit
I stopped in here for breakfast and was delightfully surprised by the savory vegan option found in the Lambert platter. It's a tofu scramble that comes with roasted potatoes topped with groovy gravy. The groovy gravy is a mushroom based gravy with a smoky flavor making it quite the treat. The soysage was so good I ordered some to go! The platter includes the option of adding one side. I chose the whole wheat toast, which rounded out the meal perfectly. The ambiance is do cute, calm, cozy and quirky. My waiter Dylan was super nice and explained that the vibe was a result of the owner adding his own personal art collection touches over the years. The cafe has been there for 80 years! Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Worth a side trip to eat here! - Edit
5 star restaurant! Not sure why this app only allows a max of 4 stars. Staff is outstanding and understood my vegan diet. I had a mushroom Philly that the only sub need was with vegan cheese. Side was the vegan Caesar. Absolutely outstanding! Very flavorful. Highly recommend!! Many vegan options.

Local gem! - Edit
I loved the many vegan options for weekend brunch. Flavors were ok, but vibe and staff were great. House-made (vegan) oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was da bomb! It's always great to find a little local gem like!

but Happy Cow reserves that for vegetarian establishments. I would give it 5 stars, though. This has been my favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg since I was introduced to it many years ago. Closed for a while during Covid and recently reopened under new, competent management with many of the old favorites on the menu. I live out of the area and just stopped there yesterday on my way through town for the first time since reopening, and it did not disappoint. I ordered Lambert's Platter, an old favorite; my husband had the falafel burger. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, service is good, food is delicious and healthful. Just like old times. Highly recommended.

Always good! - Edit
I remember I would eat their vegan food before I was vegan - it’s just that good. It’s one of the main places that made me feel like I could actually go vegan and stay vegan while eating great food.

Affordable and delicious!! - Edit
This place was great!!! We gorged ourselves on all the food. I got pancakes (vegetarian, not vegan), potatoes, and a biscuit. They also had this yummy vegan cheese sauce that is made in house. Prices were great too- we ate a ton and it was less than $30 for 2 people!

Great Vegan Options - Edit
While visiting Shenandoah National Park, I searched for a close enough place with vegan options and was shocked to find vegan breakfast! I ordered the tofu scramble with Cajun potatoes, a short stack of the g.f. blueberry buckwheat pancakes, one of their HUGE vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and a side of veggie chili. Everything tasted great and was seasoned well! The staff was super friendly too! I will definitely return when I'm back in the area.

Great tofu scramble - Edit
Both the plain scramble and the breakfast burrito were very good - well seasoned, and love that Twin Oaks tofu. Pancake was kind of weird and not fully cooked in the middle.

Generous Amount of Vegan Options - Edit
Had a hard time selecting just one option because there were plenty to choose from. I landed on the vegan pancakes because I hadn't had pancakes since going vegan a couple years ago. The employee that took our order was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I also impulse bought a giant vegan cookie that took me 3 sitting to finish. I appreciated that the pancake was made with flax and the cookie made with whole grains - makes indulging feel a little more nourishing!

We love the vegan options here! - Edit
Cool atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of vegan options!!! It sometimes takes us 15-20 minutes to decide what we want because they offer so many choices. This is a welcome change from most restaurants out there, which only offer 1 or 2 vegan things to choose from (if that!!). We like the community involvement, too.

This place was perfectly positioned near the highway on our way to visit the Luray Caverns. It isn’t vegetarian but has tons of vegetarian and vegan options.
Read moreI had the vegan peanut noodle bowl and I loved it. It was made with perfectly cooked rice noodles and had lots of greens. The serving size was just right for me. It was delicious.
My husband - the Reuben expert- said his Reuben sandwich was excellent.it was vegetarian but could be made vegan. (His favorite Reuben ever is still at Strong hearts in Syracuse).
My son loved his Hermès wrap and lemonade. It was filled with a falafel that was perfectly crunchy.
The prices were very reasonable. The wrap was $5.34, the Reuben $8.90 and my bowl was $8.01.

maybe I was really hungry. maybe I just didn't expect a good evening meal in Harrisonburg. but I happened to find this great little restaurant through happy cow. I came on a Friday night which is down home night. I ordered the bbq fried tempeh with collard greens. OMG. I've been vegan for many years now. this was the best vegan meal I have ever at a restaurant. Go there.
