Delicious food & great service - Edit
Ask for their separate vegetarian & vegan menu - lots of delicious dishes to choose from. It would be great if they gave this out with the main menu, as standard, or asked if anyone wanted to see it.

Several options, but disappointing - Edit
The Lighthouse is trying hard to offer a choice for vegans, but it is the sort of food that is often served up when someone is not confident cooking vegan. It is conventional food with the meat left out. The two options we tried were both bland and unimaginative unfortunately.

Warm friendly service, lovely atmosphere and wonderful food! - Edit
We stumbled across The Lighthouse and seemed to luck out and get a table for 2. I'd advise booking in advance as every other table was full. We were greeted with a warm smile and had lovely service throughout, it's a friendly and welcoming place. I was thrilled to be given a vegan menu with lots of choice. My partner eats meat and really enjoyed his too. Such a find, we'll be back anytime we're in Aldeburgh.

There is a large selection of vegan options, make sure you ask when booking to ensure they have everything on the day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great location.

A friend treated us to a takeaway at the lighthouse last week.
Read moreThe main dish and desert were extremely tasty and flavoursome.
My only concern is that the chef doesn’t know the nutritional needs of vegans. The main course had no protein value and that for me isn’t healthy or indeed value for money.
The main meal was vegetable curry with rice.
The desert was a poached pear with a strawberry.
There is no vegan menu so you have to see on the day what the chef has to offer.
Three stars for flavour and for having vegan options 😋

Gourmet vegan!!! - Edit
Broad vegan menu that has starters mains and desserts. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and had a lovely garden terrace! We tried the vegan lasagna and the vegan tagine and both were delicious. We were both so hungry I didn’t manage to get any photos. Deffo recommend.

Dinner - Edit
Went with my omni parents for dinner. The website says to advise you’re vegan but they had a vegan menu ready with 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts so I don’t think it would be a problem if you didn’t give advance notice. The staff were also happy to point out that one of the desserts on the specials board could be veganised if the ice cream was subbed for non dairy.
Read moreWe had a chilli dish and a tofu and rice dish with a rich tomato sauce. Food was fabulous and the service was excellent. The lengthy wine menu does not specify which are veggie and vegan (not unusual in a restaurant like this) but you can research before you go as the wine list is on the website.
Overall really good and I’d definitely visit again
