Lovely salads, falafel, soups, in fact everything was great. - Edit
Skipton on market day is busy in the summer. Luckily we waltzed straight into a table for four at The Leaf and Bean. A small establishment above a health food shop. Note. If following Apple Maps, at the time I write this, it is in the wrong location. The Café is at the top of the high street on the left as you look at the church not near the car park in the middle. Anyhow, a great lunch was had by the four of us and a lot of the other options coming out looked equally excellent. Top marks.

Delicious plant based food - Edit
We work around the corner and order to take out, usually the falafel and hummus pita with a delicious salad. The roast peppers are lovely plus the red cabbage in the salad. Great combination and excellent value for money. The best in Skipton (in my opinion).

Great food with a nice view - Edit
Went to the Leaf & Bean for lunch after spotting it near the castle, the outside is deceiving!!
Read moreThe menu had a wide range of different options, which my non vegan friend was also excited about. I had the houmous and red pepper sandwich which was served with some nice salad. Also tried a chocolate brownie which was gooey and indulgent.
Would recommend this little place!!

Okay - Edit
Ordered a panini but got a hot dog roll instead. If your not going to get what’s on the menu then you should be advised so you can make a decision. After all the customer is paying.

Excellent place. - Edit
This cafe has been going a long time but I think it’s the best it’s been. Vegan breakfast was excellent. Beware, my partner had soup and the trio of salads and it’s a lot !! Date and oat slice is lovely, we always get some to take away.

Lovely cafe - Edit
Really lovely cafe in Skipton. Over a veggie health food shop. The sausage sandwich was delicious and I also got a millionaire shortbread to go which was very tasty and only £1.50. Very nice cafe - highly recommend.

Lovely cafe with Vegan options - Edit
The Leaf & Bean cafe is part of Moorey's Health Store, on the first floor over the shop and only recently reopened after lockdown.
Read moreThe shop has a huge selection of vegan products for everyone, along with a refill station for items like washing up liquid, hand soaps, toilet cleaner etc, chilled and frozen products. The cafe menu is reduced, which is understandable due to Covid but there was plenty to choose from.
We ordered a pot of Earl Grey tea with oat milk, a red pepper houmous jacket potato with broccoli, cauliflower, leek and pea salad with garlic dressing for me and mushroom pate with cucumber sandwich served with three of the daily salads for hubby. The jacket potato was huge with plenty houmous and the salad was so scrumptious I will be stealing the recipe idea, what a great way to get your raw vegetables. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his lunch and having a big pot of tea is a winner, nothing worse than only being served a cup.
I love Leaf and Bean cafe, the staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful and we felt totally safe during our lunch visit and we will definitely be revisiting when next in Skipton.

Food is lovely - Edit
Really surprised about how much taste they pack in their food - wasn’t expecting it. Not that comfortable for a cafe and the menu was obviously a bit limited, as they are everywhere because of the pandemic at the moment. Bit of a nightmare if there’s a crying baby. But they do say that there is building upgrading going on. Brilliant and friendly service. We had the hummus and falafel salad pitta, trio salad, vegan cheese and pickle sandwich and a soup of the day - all tasted beautiful. Good price. Recommended.

Nice find - Edit
This is easy to miss as it is above the health food store which you have to walk through to get to the cafe. It is fully Vegetarian with a great selection of Vegan food. Sandwiches, jacket potatoes and soup. They also have a daily special board and we ordered a delicious sausage casserole which came with great chunks of seeded bread. It’s very reasonable priced with good portion size, and the staff are very friendly. Will definitely visit again.
Read moreThe health food shop is also worth a visit with a good choice of Vegan food and some lovely soaps.
Pros: Town centre location , Good choice, Reasonable price
Cons: Easy to miss as access is through the shop

Now trading above the renamed health food shop Moorey's, but very similar just with better facilities and they now accept cards payments. Friendly welcoming staff and delicious mostly vegan food. They are changing the specials menu a little too by doing mostly substantial lunch dishes such as curry etc, plus soup of the day, and vegan cakes. The table menu has a good sandwich and soup offer which is a main meal in itself and baked potatoes, etc. My sweet potato and tofu burger was excellent though and the three salads were scrumptious (riced cauliflower, red cabbage, beetroot and kidney beans, and green salad). They seem to do evening meals from time too which I must try.

Excellent vegan options - Edit
Small cafe with just 10 tables, above their shop, and situated at the top end of the main street, overlooking the grounds of the castle.
Read moreWe went on a day when their oven had broken (or maybe it was the gas supply itself) so there were fewer options available than usual.
Nevertheless the food we had was excellent. We had two different types of sandwiches, the mushroom pate and the hummus & pepper. Both were tasty, with good portion sizes and served with a couple of delicious side salads.
I will say also that their cake - a Black Forest Chocolate Tart- was hands down one of the best cakes I've eaten in ages!
Pros: Good portions. And cake!, Very good value
Cons: None

Was excited to eat here. On arrival it had a funny smell and looked grubby... like old house smell. Ordered the jackfruit burger which was ok. Seen him microwaving it which was a bit off putting. Portion was massive but was a bun split in 2 piled with food (not a burger) didn't like the 2 side salads.

My Dad and I both had soup and a sandwich- mine was vegan cheddar cheese and chutney, his veggie cheddar and chutney. Good choice of options by the way! The salad came with quinoa. Dad (despite being 69) had never eaten it before. He found it bland and left it on the plate. I tried to explain and tried a bit of his. In fairness it did seem a bit claggy, not light and fluffy at all ... perhaps the bottom of the bowl? Service excellent.

A really sweet little cafe above a well stocked health food shop. A lot of the menu is vegan, I had a coffee with a scone and jam which was all very nice, my daughter had a peppermint tea and they only charged me a pound for it because she's only 2 which was a much appreciated gesture.

Popped by for a quick drink, the café is situated above a fantastic health food shop (great array of items in there too!). The menu looked great, a wide selection of completely vegan options, as well as sweet treats. Cheery atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food too. We just grabbed some drinks and they were spot on. Clean venue and the staff were very pleasant, hope I can call by again to grab some food!

Very busy, reasonable menu. My aubergine parmigiana was rather heavy on the tomatoes but not bad. Other half had a cheese on granary with lots of seeds etc. and some salad. He enjoyed it. Together with a couple of soft drinks bill came to around £18. The cheese and onion pie looked very good and everyone seemed happy. If we are in SKipton again we will come back.

On arrival we had to queue to get a seat which in my opinion is a good thing for a veggie cafe. Once sat down we ordered the soup of the day (Courgette and celery) which was fantastic and vegan. The service was great and vegan options were marked and they had a good seletion. A must go place for veggies and vegans to support a local venture.
