Fast(ish) plant based food at its best. NOTE: TAKEAWAY NOW SHUT. Catering still in operation. - Edit
I rarely eat burgers and chips but came here for a change and it was definitely worth it. I didn’t feel like I had eaten fast food albeit a plant based version. The burgers (choice of 3) all sounded great and the one I had “the cowless boy” was very nice indeed. The fries were not too greasy and the cauliflower buffalo wings were exceedingly nice. All followed with a very pleasant chocolate brownie. Had to take away because it is a shared seating area with a pub and pizza place. Ideal if you can get a table and the weather of good. I say fastish food because although it is a fast food concept they produce the food with care and as such it may not be as fast as some may expect.

Amazing burgers - Edit
Love the burgers here they are very much freshly made, with plant based ingredients rather than meat substitutes. They have a small burger menu which they change regularly, I always enjoy trying their new creations. The chunky chips and cauliflower wings are also really good.
Read moreThe only downside is that there is not much seating here and it gets busy on the weekend but you can always do takeaway and take it to the park nearby.

Amazing food! - Edit
The staff were very friendly and accommodating to food intolerances to the extend they can offer. Delicious food, healthy combinations and filling, good sized portions. I got the cauliflower burger, which they kindly prepared for me without the bun, and made it as a salad bowl and had the dirty fries. The vegan cheese on the fries was very tasty and melted very nicely, which is hard to get with some of these vegan cheeses.

Excellent - Edit
We both had one of their cauli-power burgers and they were excellent. Would love to go back and try their other burgers. Recommend going right when they open if you want a table, as they fill up quickly. They also offer takeaway.

Must try!! - Edit
Have tried 5 different burgers and each one has been incredible! Love how the menu changes monthly, so much more than the standard burger & cheese combo offered by most places.

Best Burgers in Cardiff! - Edit
Amazing burgers that always taste great. The menu varies and they sometimes offer specials. My favourite is always the Italian job (risotto burger). The brownies are delicious too. Please support this great local business.

Best burgers in Cardiff - Edit
These burgers are incredible. They switch up the menu a lot too so you can try all their different creations! I've had burgers from Lazy Leek loads of times and they are amazing every single time. The owners and staff are the nicest people, so friendly and happy even when it is really busy or a miserable, rainy day. I'm happy to give my money to support their small business. Great vibe in Kings Yard and worth having a look around or staying for a beer/coffee if you can get a seat - it gets busy in there. If it's a nice day, grab a burger to go and sit on Poncanna Fields and people watch - nothing better.

Really tasty - Edit
The burgers are so lovely here - they are more vegetable/bean based which is nice and makes them feel a bit healthier! Ingredients are super fresh, tastes amazing and not a bad price for a vegan burger as sometimes they can be really overpriced

Delicious burgers - Edit
Very nice burgers available. I would say that they are a healthier twist to vegan junk food burgers, being mainly bean based. My only criticism is that the seating is outdoors so is not accessible in all weather conditions, unless you chose to takeaway.

More artisan burgers rather than junk style. Generally veggie parties which are delicious and loads of salad inside a delicious Alex Gooch bun. They also do chips and Cauliflower wings which are very yummy too!

Deliciously dirty burgers! - Edit
This is such a fun little place! We stumbled across this place whilst wandering around after visiting the organic bulk store nearby (viva organic!) and I’m so glad we did. The Lazy Leek serve up massive, dirty burgers. You know the kind... when you’re handed it you’re not entirely sure how you’re going to eat such a towering beast of a burger, but you’re certain you’ll find a way. We had the bean burgers and were happy with our selection. Shredded beetroot, vegan cheese and an onion ring topped off this monster and it was delicious from start to finish! We tried the cauliflower wings and they were amazing and the highlight of our meal! What a cool little place, I’m so glad we stopped by.

Tasty and reasonable food - Edit
I live just around the corner from the Lazy Leek and I can’t get enough! The burgers are incredible, and it’s all very reasonably priced. The portions are huge, so it really feels like you’re getting a lot for your money.

Yummy! - Edit
I’m hard to please with burgers but we tried the Nacho Libre and it was amazing. So unusual to have tortilla chips in a burger but really enjoyed the crunch. Guacamole inside was delicious too. We had cauliflower wings on the side and they were delicious too. Cake and cupcakes looked really good and very reasonably priced but didn’t actually try any of them.

Hi Catherine! Thanks so much for the lovely review and so glad you enjoyed the food! Just to let you know that we do have toilets in the yard (next to Pipes Brewery). They aren't super obvious so probably need to put up a better sign to tell everyone! Hope to see you again soon ? ?

Nice cakes - Edit
Met Samuel, Jessica and Joseph, who are co owners of The Lazy Leaks, yesterday at the Pontcana market. We tried the gluten free rainbow cake, the chocolate cake and the cinnamon cakes. They plan to open a Burger Shack soon in Feb so looking forward to that. They are enthusiastic entrepreneurs keen on starting their vegan business in Cardiff.
