Lovely view, average food

My family are fans on The Lake View but I've always found it a bit underwhelming. The staff are really nice and it has a lovely surrounding area, so definitely a solid option for a family trip out with Grandma, but the food is rarely anything to write home about

Most recently, when I didn't want the only vegan option available (there's only so many vegan burgers you can eat in a week), they did suggest knocking up a toastie with vegan cheese, which was lovely of them. Sadly the chefs were a little TOO generous with the cheese and I felt pretty ill afterwards.

A small bugbear - I was pretty surprised when I asked if you could have the pasta without seafood they said it was all pre-mixed, since the price and time it took would make you think the food is made relatively fresh.

Quality-wise, I'd say it's generally pretty mixed. The chips were good though.

Pros: Lovely spot, Good place to stop if you want to walk around the , Pretty surprising they ever have vegan options

Cons: The quality of the food could be better, Very few vegan/vego options

good!

I came here for a uni thing and had my meal paid for, so I'm not sure about the prices. However I had a vegan stir fry thing (can't remember what it was called) and it was delicious!! Portion size was good and super flavourful.

Pros: food was delicious , reasonable portion size, good location

Cons: potentially a bit pricey, very busy, not exactly a cozy intimate setting

Go for the view

A beautiful view of the lake can be had from this perfect vantage point. Customer service is excellent.
The menu has a couple of items that are veganisable - including the roast veggie wrap and veggie focaccia. Vegetarian and gluten free items are marked on the menu. But you do have to make sure you specify you want it vegan.
Built in 1875, and recently refurbished, this hotel is a familiar site and destination for the locals. Go for the history and the view, but the menu is nothing extraordinary for vegans.

Pros: view, customer service

Cons: vegetarian items need to be customised

A nice suprise

This pub was a suprising find. Has recently been done up and menu changed. It was easy to find vege and vegan options and also plenty of gluten free options also. I had a delicious veg wrap that was a home made crepe, quite unusual but very tasty. Service was slick and changes for dietary requirements were not a problem. Serving was reasonably quick. Prices were pub average. Nice view of the lake on a good day!

Pros: Large space and view, reasonable options

Cons: a little pricey
