Good food

The food was delicious. I had the bbq seitan burger which I couldn't have faulted taste wise. The price is good. The only issue I have is that it doesn't seem perfectly clean. It is clean enough for the food just little details like a really screwed up and dirty paper menu with water damage and wet cutlery, doesn't set a good example and made me a little uneasy.

Lovely veggie/vegan co-operative cafe

I have been going to this place for years and the food is always delicious and so reasonably priced. It's a vegetarian cafe but most of the options are vegan. I love the vibe, it feels so peaceful and friendly in there to me! Today I had the BBQ seitan burger - so yummy! And bought a piece of carrot cake to bring home as their cakes are all vegan (and always good!) I can also recommend the Gozleme (Turkish stuffed bread) and their curries are mouth watering. I love supporting a local business - especially one based on co-operative/eco friendly foundations.

Pros: Friendly atmosphere, Excellent vegan options, Good value

Great vegan breakfast

The Kitchen is Bolton's only vegan restaurant, open through the day but, unfortunately, not evenings. I've enjoyed the breakfast here a few times. It comprise: mushrooms, beans, tomato, "scrambled" soy and toast. Strongly recommended!

Pros: Vegan, Good value, Chance to support a workers' co-op

Cons: Slightly scruffy

Great food

Nice place with a good choice for vegans, great food, big portions and very good value. The best thing in Bolton.
Had become vegan earlier in 2018 but went yesterday (17/12/2018) and was offered eggs/dairy milk.

A good offering, if a little rough round the edges

We have had take away cake from here, which has been good. We had a vegan breakfast which was good and the scrambled tofu was note worthy. They also have a small selection of sundries which is really useful as well as a local organic veg bag pick up point. My real gripe is that the place is quite scruffy and it has made us both hesitant about the hygiene standards.

Pros: Vegan cake, Sundries for sale, Cooperative format

Cons: Scruffy

My Go-To place in Bolton

Amazing vegan options, most of the food is vegan. Recommend the seitan kebab and tuna melt. A little pricey but there are some good budget options and the food quality is so good it doesn't matter. Friendly staff too.

Vegetarian cafe, centrally located and reasonably priced.

Visited here for dinner (lunch), got the food to takeaway. I ordered the mushroom bean burger, coffee and walnut cake, carrot cake and I also took a flapjack and a vego chocolate bar from the shop area, £12.10 total. All the food was good and I would eat here again. There’s plenty of seating if you want to sit in.

This cafe is centrally located, most things on the menu are vegan and are clearly marked, all of the cakes were vegan, including the 2 options I had plus fruit crumble, date and walnut brownie, white chocolate cheesecake, millionaire shortbread and chocolate almond fudge cake.

From the fridge they sell a range of vegan soft drinks plus meat alternatives such as tofu.

There is a shop section which sells a range of products including alternative milks, vegan chocolate, crisps and healthy snacks, baking products and nut butters, tea, environmentally friendly cleaning products and shampoo. At the counter there is also a range of sweet snacks including vegan chocolate bars and vegan flapjacks, fresh fruit and vegan soap!

They also have a book shelf area where they sell books as well as a section for flyers and leaflets which stock information about events.

There are vegetarian inspired quotes dotted about and they also have free WiFi.

Pros: Lots of vegan cake , Central location , Reasonable prices

Cons: Not fully vegan

A great veggie/vegan cafe

Ok it's by no means a plush place but if you're a vegetarian or vegan you'll struggle to find better food and better value in Bolton town centre. This is a community/co-operative place using fresh and local ingredients and the menu is surprisingly varied. The soups are great and always vegan. Love treating myself to a sit down lunch at The Kitchen whenever I'm in Bolton town centre.

Large selection of reasonably priced vegan options

Visited Bolton today through work and stumbled upon this place on HappyCow. Kind of a cafe vibe but does loads of great food and mainly vegan too. I grabbed a soup for lunch. The lunches daily. Then I went back in the early evening for a takeaway. Got a gorgeous bean and mushroom burger, potato wedges and a mezze salad box with veggie kofte. Really really nice. Dead reasonable too. I got all that and a bottle of pop for £11.50. Highly recommend.

Pros: Loads of options for vegans, Reasonably priced, It exists

Cons: Wish it was open later as I would have loved to ha

A great place for a quiet lunch or gathering

I eat there on average, at least twice a month. There is always a great selection of hot and cold beverages, freshly made cakes and deserts for those with a sweet tooth, and the daily mains / soup of the day have never ever disappointed. If you are unsure what to order, I recommend a kofta burger with wedges, or a gozleme (flat bread) stuffed with spinach. very filling and reasonably priced too.

Pros: great food, knowledgable staff, great value

Cons: can get busy
