Serves meat, vegan options available. Sandwich bar and coffee shop that offers vegan options including a vegan cream tea. Removed Aug 2020 - limited vegan options.
We went to this resteraunt only to find they didn't have any vegan options. After reading a review we went next door to the "Tea Room" who had a vegan friendly sign in the window. They had no listed vegan options however after asking, they said they could cater for us. This "catering" was a violife cheese and onion sandwich that they charged £7 for. My vegetarian partner ordered an avocado, feta and pepper sandwich which had pathetic amounts of filling. The cafe was also empty. Overall, it was a lot of money to spend on a very sub par experience.
I actually wonder if the other reviews have muddled up "The Tea House" next door? When we visited here we were told they do not carer to vegans officially but could make us a basic salad. Meanwhile The Tea House next door had a "vegan Ventnor" sticker in the window, 3 savoury options & a vegan cake. We went there!
Hi Jess.
No the other reviewers haven't got the two shops confused. We use to cater for Vegans. We did Vegan cream teas, BLTs and several other special dishes. Last year we decided that we no longer wanted to cater for vegans. I think the people that run happycow should take us off this site to prevent any future disappointment.
If all places offered decent, imaginative vegetarian/vegan options, surely more people would eat vegetarian more often. Definitely no "fling & ping" options here, amazing vegan BLT and all the rumours about the scones are true. Caters for all and does it well.
The staff here are so friendly and welcoming! My whole family are vegan and they have some really tasty options and are so helpful here. They also have some amazing smoothies as well as their super tasty homemade scones! Yes...they do a vegan cream tea!! The app wouldn't let me give 5 stars (as it's not a veggie place) but they definitely deserve 5 stars!
