Great vegan choices - Edit
Had a lovely meal here. Went for the pie, mash and veg. Veg beautifully cooked. Pie was faux mince in a puff pastry shell ( covered in pastry) and came with gravy. Plenty of choices and very reasonably priced.

Great food - not many options - Edit
The sausage and mash here was delicious. The sharing platter was great too!

Good choice, lovely service - Edit
Went for dinner - 5 vegan choices, plus a vegan sharing platter and 2 more vegetarian options. The dessert menu doesn't list vegan options, but there were 2 when we asked (apple pie or chocolate and salted caramel cake, with dairy-free ice cream).

Limited choice in the evening - Edit
Went with friends who are meat eaters for early evening meal, chosen on basis of previous review. Unfortunately we were told that the menu shown in the photograph on Bilzy's review is the lunchtime menu and the only vegan options after lunchtime were the sharing platter or the jackfruit curry. My wife didn't fancy the curry so we ordered a sharing platter but sadly we were underwhelmed by what arrived. It was edible but just seemed to be a collection of cooked frozen snacks and not very appealing, certainly I could not recommend it on our experience.
Read moreI've given three stars based upon limited choice in the town and the greater choice on the lunchtime menu. However I won't be bothering to go again.

Hotel and Pub with Vegan Options - Edit
I stayed at the hotel attached to The King's Head with family. Although there is no vegan cooked breakfast on the menu the vegetarian cooked breakfast can be made vegan by simply removing the egg. The staff member on hand was very helpful and very kindly checked with the chef to ensure everything was vegan. They also have a selection of cereals and fruit. Soya milk is available.
