Would give the Keys 5 stars if it let me. Vegan/GF options.

The owner is awesome. There are themed food nights. I dream about the potato waffle grilled (nut)cheez. Everyone is welcome and well served here. Fair prices too! Best vegan/gf bar food I’ve had.

Pros: Many vegan (and gf) options, Staff are really great, Local live music and art

Cons: None, Happy cow should let me choose 5 stars!

Beer + Vegan Food + Great Staff + Low Prices = Happiness

I love The Keys. Yes, it's a bar but it's low-key, super casual, and except on band nights, not so loud where you cannot hold a conversation. Staff is friendly and inviting. Owner, Jenn, has a loyal following so you can expect to see regulars. The main vegan offerings change daily -- stuffed burgers on Wednesdays, grilled cheese on Thursdays, etc. -- but there are always mainstays like her amazing potato waffles. Jenn is super creative and around special occasions, she'll come up with something unique like pierogis. Even if you're not a drinker, visit The Keys but have expectations for a very casual environment. This isn't a dress-up restaurant and you may need to order directly at the bar if especially busy. Don't drink? No worries. Attention is given to feeding patrons just as much. Prices are exceptionally low so tip heartily😄They deserve it!

Pros: Very inexpensive, Creative offerings, Consistently delicious

Cons: Not exclusively plant-based, For some, it being a bar is a turn-off

First let me say the owner Jenn is pretty amazing! She always includes at least one vegan option on her menu. Jenn makes all the vegan food and is very willing to show you the kitchen if you have concerns about cross contamination. Before we moved she started doing vegan brunches, sadly I didn’t get to attend but heard the outcome has been wonderful. It is simple vegan adaptations, that aren’t expensive, and you’ll get to meet some pretty cool people.

Pros: Inexpensive , Good amount of vegan options

Cons: Cash only, Dinner hours

Something special for vegans everyday

Everytime I've gone here they have had a delicious vegan option; I've had the pizza, the grilled cheese, and the wings. All good, they don't skimp and have all vegan sauce available too. What a find in Scranton. Also love the dive-bar atmosphere and live music. I'm not a big bar person but this is by far my favorite bar in Scranton!

Pros: Good value for food and drinks, Friendly service, Varied vegan options

Cons: Small building, can be loud

TOOOOOONS of Veg Options

This place is not 100% Veg but it does have a rotating weekly menu featuring toooons of Veg Options like stuffed burgers, tacos, soups, and more! There’s no other bar quite like it in the city. Two thumbs up

Pros: large variety, low cost, good location

This is a bar.

A loud, smelly bar. Too loud to attempt a meal, so we didn't.

Truly amazed at this Gem...

Excited to find out this is finally on Happy Cow!!...I usually share info about this cool, vegan friendly place locally or bring others in and now to I get to share to anyone who has this cool app that I have relied on for many years!
After my experiences here it's safe to say it's in a class of its own..cool corner bar with live music weekly, tributes and themed events with coordinating food and drinks ie. Tribute to Bowie and Prince, purple drinks, irish food etc..and vegan options at all times...the owner is a doll and knows vegan and cross contamination is a non issue..just when you think you have tried most of their delicious vegan comfort food the place never ceases to amaze you with variations week after week..like Shepards pie pizza ohmygawd!...you never leave hungry or broke so tip big!...the food and service and low key vibe is great ...always support vegan and local♡♡

Pros: Creative Vegan comfort options, Inexpensive , Service

Vegan Bar Food?? Yes please!!

I love bars. I love beer. I love good music. And, I love vegan food. Put them all together and you get The Keys!! This super casual little bar in Scranton serves up some of the yummiest vegan grub in town. The prices are crazy cheap to boot! Don't miss the $2 potato waffles and the stuffed burgers on Wednesday nights. And don't be shy about asking for the vegan options. The staff knows how to take good care of us, including NO cross-contamination concerns. Great selection of beer on tap. Go! Have fun!!

Pros: Comfort food, Friendly staff, Inexpensive
