Separate vegan menu and great crumble

A good place to go if dining out with non vegan family members or friends. There were three starters, the mains and three desserts available. Home made vegan mayo and the staff were very aware of vegan requirements. Food was okay but for my liking a little light on green stuff unless you specifically went for the green salad. Perfectly acceptable and consumable food. Special mention for the crumble which was very nice although no vegan custard.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Very vegan aware, Nice pub

Cons: More vegan sides needed

Reduced covid menu maybe??

I think they may have been running a reduced menu because of covid, at least I hope they were. There was no sign of the food in the restaurants description on here. However, they had excellent customer service and provided me with a handwritten vegan options menu that they made specially for me. I had a mixed tomato and pesto salad for a starter which was really nice, and a mushroom risotto for mains which tasted of sweet chilli sauce- pretty odd and kind of took away from the mushrooms. My girlfriend had a sweet potato burger but it weirdly looked like sweet potato fries sort of mushed into a patty then fried, again topped with sweet chilli sauce- weird.

Pros: Excellent customer service, Will make special menu/meal for vegans, Good vegan alcohol options

Cons: Not really sure the chef had vegan experience, They put sweet chilli in everything, Probably thinking vegan food needs the flavor? 😂
