I-Rish I Had Better News - Edit
Not long since having visited their sister location and quite enjoying what I found there, I was quietly optimistic of more of the same here.
Read moreWhen dining at said twin establishment, I was defeated in my quest to sample the vegan nut roast due to lack of availability. Perhaps I should have taken this as a sign that it was a dish that wasn’t for me. Unfortunately, not being so prescient, I failed to take this subtle hint from the universe and merrily took up the chance to order it this time around.
As a plate, it consisted of items that ranged from peculiar to adequate with a smattering of boring and nondescript in the middle. First, the outlier. What roasted cherry tomatoes were doing on a roast, I don’t know, but they actually turned out to be the most flavourful item. Moving on from here, it was pretty much a downward spiral. The vegetables were devoid of anything close to interest, the gravy was a near disaster, and the mashed potatoes were almost criminal. Just about peeking their head above the parapet of mediocrity were the roast potatoes, as (what scant few there were) conspired to be not awful, while the nut roast, despite looking drier than a Puritan, was actually passable.
I did my level best to salvage the meal by ordering a pair of sides: onion rings and fries. Somehow, the latter managed to follow suit with all that preceded them, but, mercifully, glory was finally found in the former, which were outrageously good.
Based solely on this experience, you would easily be forgiven for assuming that I would never deign to grace this venue again. However, as a place to grab a post-work pint, it’s hard to argue with its credentials, and I will no doubt be back for liquid refreshments – if not so much the food.

Delicious Food - Great Atmosphere - Edit
What a good little find this was! And in the hotel I was staying in.
Read moreGood range of very wholesome Vegan Mains including a Nut Roast with all the trimmings. I had the Cottage Pie with a really nice Vegan Mash. Thoroughly enjoyed it and live music playing. It’s open air on the roof and has a great energy. Give it a go if you are in Dubai and make a night of it.
Pros: Great setting , Delicious filling hearty meals , Live music
