What's "Traditional" About Vegan Tea? - Edit
Some might consider the term an oxymoron. Well, the fact that Vegan is on the menu here is indeed a testament to how far we have come, though I say it's high time for Vegan high tea to BE the tradition in the U.K. In the meantime, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to partake at The Huntington's Rose Garden Tea Room.
Read moreFull Vegan menu is offered as an option, and it was pure delight for the senses, from start to finish. While the service and the presentation is first class, have no qualms about showing up in jeans and a t-shirt, though dressing up is fine too, if that's your thing.
Everything I had was delicious and satisfying. Although I consider it to be an extravagant indulgence in and of itself, it was certainly a worthwhile adjunct to my day-long visit to The Huntington Botanical Gardens, which was the main event, an experience I'll never forget and would not have had, had it not been for that special someone - there's a reason he's the Love of my life 🙏💖

Really excellent vegan options - Edit
Everything was so delicious. The tea, the scones, all the little sandwiches and desserts. You absolutely won’t miss out as a vegan. Make sure you let them know you’re vegan before you reserve. I went with a group of omnivores, one person was gluten free, and we all loved the food and the experience.

As good as London's best - Edit
I've had beautiful vegan afternoon tea in the heart of London, and this is the only place that compares. This menu is not an accommodation--it is a purpose-built vegan menu from the ground up: scones, finger sandwiches (chickpea salad, mushroom pate, edamame hummus, and a James Beard creation, to name a few), and desserts (chocolate cake, carrot cake, panna cotta(!)).
Read moreThe tea menu is prix fixe: $37 includes the set courses of food, and bottomless tea. The English breakfast was bold and complex, the Earl Grey 'creme' was one of the best teas I've had in my life. A pricey endeavor, but a beautiful experience for a romantic time and/or special occasion.
Note: this is definitely a five-star place, even though HappyCow doesn't allow that rating for non-vegan establishments!
Pros: Beautiful gourmet food, Excellent service, Great for special occasioons
Cons: Pricey, Requires separate admission to Huntington Gadens, Tea room interior decor is nothing special
