Underwhelming

They had two labeled vegan options that I was trying to decide between and ended up with the veggie sandwich which was good but there was no side or anything so felt pretty expensive for something I could easily make at home. They should add some roasted potatoes or something to make it a real meal.

Pros: Hummus on sandwich, Cute restaurant

Cons: Underwhelming portion size, Basic vegan sandwich

Try the soup and cookies

Happy to have finally gotten a chance to visit The Hungry Traveler Cafe. The restaurant itself is clean and cheerful, the fresh baked treats and bread line the front counter which look delectable. The menu itself is small and not a lot that’s vegan friendly, I was looking forward to the chickpea mash sandwich but they didn’t have it and instead had a zucchini sandwich which was bland because it normally came with feta. But I loved the Moroccan red lentil soup and I’d go back just for a bowl of soup. I also got a frozen vegan shepherds pie and had that at home and it was incredible! Having an option like that on the cafe menu would be wonderful. And I got the double chocolate cookies for home and they were amazing as well!!
It’s wonderful to have a halal restaurant on the south shore.
