Beyond Burger

Very good vegan burger. Very impressed that they even swapped the normal coleslaw for vegan. Good chips as well.

Super

Burger vegan délicieux. Petite carte Vegan mais très bon. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de simili fromage ni simili bacon.

Good

Nice place to go with your non-vegan friends. They have some vegan options for everything (burgers, starters, dessert, milkshakes). Portions are big. Friendly waiters.

Pros: Non-alcoholic cocktails (mojito and pina colada) , French fries were really good (not greasy), Outside tables

Cons: Too much onion in guacamole

Great Patty

I got the Vegan fake meat burger and the patty was so good. It needed some vegan cheese and I wish they would offer it. It’s a bit expensive but good if you fancy a burger or with a group of mixed diets.

Perfectly decent food

They had a couple of vegan burgers. I had the barbecue burger, it was very very nice. The fries weren’t amazing, but I think maybe that is because I left them too long while I ate my burger and my onion rings.
Onion rings were marked vegan, but came with a non-vegan looking sauce. To be fair, it could well have been a vegan aioli, but I didn’t think to ask when ordering, and couldn’t be bothered to check. I had ketchup and was well satisfied with my onion rings and burger.

The service was quick and polite, it was quiet and so the food was out very fast.

Really no complaints. It’s a burger bar. It isn’t going to change your life, but it is going to fill you up.

Pros: Good burger , Good onion rings , Good service

Cons: Could have more vegan options.

2 days - 2 different experiences.

I am still conflicted about this as I am writing it. So I'll put my experiences separately and let you decide.

I had a wonderful experience yesterday. Brought my non-veg friends. Everybody loved the burgers. The staff were friendly and helpful, they even replaced the normal vegan patty with the "incredible burger" patty, which is vegan itself but is normally served as a vegeterian burger. They served the coleslaw side without sause and the fries are indeed cooked in vegitable oil. Both sides are all you can eat. The Beer was great as well. We even could separately pay with cash or credit card. Great experience yesterday.

Today ... I came back for another bite of that tasty vegan burger. I took a bite alright. And that bite contained something extra - a piece of bacon. Not vegan bacon but regular old bacon. I asked if that was a mushroom or sth. but no it was bacon. By mistake for sure, probably the bacon was dropped by mistake in on of the salads used in preparing the burgers. The waitress was courtious and offered to prepare another one or for me not to pay which I was what I did (or did not do in that case). I am sure she did not understand the implications of that situation and that she is a good person.

Hence my dilema shall I make this review and feel like a jerk (and be a jerk) or just let it slide and feel like an imposter (and be an imposter). To my ability I tried to be as objective as possible and present my 2 experiences as they are. And I want to encourage places to offer vegan options. The staff were nice people. The burger had meat in it though and I can't get around that. It gets 2 out 5 just because of the staff were nice people and took extra steps to accomodate. I hope they take more care in the future. I am sad about this. I guess we need to be extra careful when we eat at places that serve meat as well.

Bien

Nous avons bien mangé mais avons été déçus de voir que sur le menu il n'y avait qu'un seul choix vegan alors que sur le site il y en avait 2....

Disappointing vegan burger

One vegan burger; overly-deep fried bean burger. Had no flavour. Small amount of vegan BBQ sauce but overall extremely dry as no vegan cheese or mayo replacement. Also the coleslaw was dry as they left the dressing off.
The fries, which were unlimited tasted as if they were old and reheated.
Great beer options

Pros: One vegan burger, Fries are vegan, Great beer

Cons: Very dry food as no vegan sauces, Dry coleslaw, Fries tasted like they had been reheated

Rather nice vegan burger

The Huggy's bar is a burger resturant that offers dozens of options for meat eaters. They have several vegetarian options and one vegan option, but the vegetarian options can be modified to be vegan (for example, the famous "beyond meat" patty is normally in a vegetarian burger, not in a vegan one).

They serve their burgers with coleslaw and (vegetable-oil) french fries.
As I ordered the vegan bruger, they served the coleslaw without the sauce (which contained egg), which I appreciated (let's hope someday they will add a vegan sauce!)

Note that the Huggy's Bar brand has another restaurant in Avenue Louise 519, which is bigger and a bit more comfortable if you ask me (the one Rue Jourdan can feel a bit crowded).

Pros: tasty vegan burger, vegan dessert

Cons: can feel a bit crowded (small room)

Friendly staff. Nice place. Good burgers

Omni-burger joint with clearly labelled vegetarian and vegan options.
They have the beyond meat patty which they are happy to replace your burger's with, if you ask them. Every burger comes with a complimentary cole slaw (but be careful, the sauce on top isn't vegan!) and every table gets fries which you can refill for free as many times as you like, also you can (for one additional Euro) top up your soft drink as many times as you like. Straws are made out of paper.

Pros: Infinite amount of fries for free, Every burger comes with cole slaw, Straws are made out of paper

Cons: It's all little expensive
