Great spot for your pup! - Edit
The Howe is a great spot. They have a year round dog friend patio and separate dog menu.
Read moreOptions are mainly American, but they occasionally have specials. They got rid of some vegan options which is disappointing, but still have 5-6 options. They also have vegan brunch options, which is rare in the cities.
Pros: Vegan brunch options, Dog friendly
Cons: Got rid of some vegan options

Lots of choices & a dog menu! - Edit
Had a delicious Philly cheeze steak with vegan coleslaw. Savory and wonderful with Herbivorous Butcher “meat.” Wanted to try the vegan ceviche but it was a bit cold for that. Vegan nachos and a noodle bowl also sounded great. Very nice mocktail menu, too. Enjoyed the lavender “nojito.” I don’t know what’s on the dog menu but am happy it exists. Charming place. I’ll be back.

Changed their menu. Less veg friend - Edit
They only had a bowl that had dairy in it. Pretty disappointed. The drinks are so sweet and don't really have any flavor.

Gastropub with great vegan options - Edit
The Howe has to be my favorite non-vegan restaurant in the city. It has a great menu of vegan options: Juicy Lucy, Philly Cheese Steak, Nachos, Buffalo Cauliflower, Phuket Bowl, Chocolate Cake, etc. It also has good service and pretty decent ambiance (probably too many TVs, but that's the only downside).

Cons: The only downside is it isn't all vegan.

Vegan Juicy Lucy 😋 - Edit
The juicy Lucy was so good! Smothered in vegan 1000 island & vegan coleslaw was included as the side! The burger is made with a beyond patty. There were quite a few vegan options & also things that were marked that could be made vegan!

I love that they have herbivorous butcher incorporated into the menu. The vegan Philly is to DIE for! Lots of other tasty vegan options on the menu. A chill place to dine, especially if you’re dining with omnivores.

Buffalo cauliflower app was great, and not too spicy! Phoebe sandwich was delicious, probably one of the best Reubens I've had.

Not a fan of the Phoebe - Edit
A decent amount of vegan options which is nice. The vegan nachos were good but the Phoebe wasn’t really my taste. I generally like beets but it just seemed to thick with beets and didn’t pair great with the cheese.

HOW about the Howe - Edit
Yes, they have vegan food, and with two patios and being ultra dog-friendly this place is amazing. Build your own burger with GOOD vegan options, vegan apps, vegan desserts, vegan drinks. They. Have. It. All. This definitely has a small-shop-neighborhood feel and the neighborhood they are located in is super cooolll 🤩

Very vegan friendly - Edit
Menu is clearly labeled, new options added frequently, and they’re happy to customize things that aren’t vegan by default. Awesome folks and great food.

Loved all the vegan options! - Edit
This place had a great selection of vegan options! I’m visiting friends in Minneapolis and we’ve been ordering in from a lot of places that only have veg options, so this place was extra impressive to me as there were multiple vegan items to choose from. I got the buffalo cauliflower and the vegan ranch was amazing, as well as the Phoebe, their version of a Ruben with beets. The selection for omnivore friends was terrific as well.

Good vegan bar food - Edit
Sports bar atmosphere in a nicely remodeled space. The staff is always helpful and kind. I really appreciate the number of vegan options. I’ve had most of them, but tend to order the tofu curry bowl. It’s the one thing that has the illusion of being somewhat healthy. In reality, I doubt health is the aim of any of the food here, but it’s a bar! I also like the Phoebe, which is a satisfying beet Rueben. As their billboard says, “it’s where meat eaters and vegans unite.” They do a good job catering to both.

You know it's a good place when you realize the patio garden is half kale, swiss chard, and tomatoes.

The buffalo cauliflower was a hit with the non vegans, and the Korean BBQ tacos were amazing, flavors were perfect.
This is a great place to go if your friends want a non veg option, and you want to eat more than just fries or a salad.
It's really nice to see a local neighborhood bar/restaurant offer such good options.
Looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, The vegan options are good, Good for groups of veg and nonveg people

Great vegan options, fun neighborhood-y vibe - Edit
The new vegan French Dip sandwich made with Herbivorous Butcher vegan meat is super, as is the staple tofu curry bowl and the vegan nachos. The cauliflower wings are great too (not as good as J Selby's but close!). You can add chickpeas or tofu to any of the salads too. Staff is knowledge and helpful about vegan options.

Really love how vegan friendly this place is! I had the vegan French dip - not something you find very often. It was really good. My bf has the mac n cheese which was fine. The vegan Reuben is super beety but all yummy!

Great vegan options!!! - Edit
I’d date a 5 if I could. Not only were the employees and general manager totally awesome, the vegan options were delicious! They were out of the impossible burger due to a shortage in product, but has replaced it with the beyond burger - which honestly I prefer. They had a vegan cheese option and even vegan ranch. 🙌🏼 It came with fries and I added an extra side of Mac n cheese because I just had to try it. It was hands down the best vegan Mac n cheese I’ve had!!! Definitely recommend. Lastly, I got the vegan queso chorizo for an appetizer and it was amazing. All around wonderful experience and I’d definitely return when I’m back in Minneapolis! 🖤

The Howe + HB meats = yum - Edit
We have been here twice and they improved the vegan selection since our first time. They only have a handful of vegan items but the items they have are great and the servers understand what is vegan. My Omni boyfriend had the impossible burger and we both loved it. I had the Korean BBQ sandwich without the bun (personal preference- the bun is vegan) and it was great. The vegan side of cole slaw rocked as well. Our favorite was the vegan chocolate cheese cake. It was excellent (but cost way too much)!

Great experience overall - Edit
I’ve been to the Howe a couple times and the service is always excellent. I love the tacos with Korean Ribs because the sweetness of the ribs is perfect with the heat of the chipotle mayo. Monday’s are $5 off burgers when you purchase a drink, so it’s probably the cheapest way in town to get the Impossible Burger. Menu lists vegan chocolate cheesecake which is actually chocolate cake (see photo) but it’s delicious nonetheless.

They have several vegan burger options and lots of beers on tap, so be prepared to stay a while on the (dog friendly!) patio. Clearly marked vegan option on menu. Korean vegan bbq burger with herbivorous butcher meat is excellent. Also have great sweet potato fries.
