Excellent vegan options at traditional pub with rooms - Edit
This is a fantastic place to stay with comfy rooms and friendly attentive staff.
Read moreThe restaurant is a traditional menu sort of place so lots of stuff like fish and chips, steaks etc, alongside pasta and other items.
But they have a separate plant based menu which has loads of quality options.
I had a butternut ravioli and my friend had a lentil and butternut wellington. Both were excellent.
What really set it apart was that, because I’d mentioned being vegan on the booking form, they were aware of this and were really keen to make sure they got things right for me. It was the best service I’ve had as a vegan anywhere.
They have a good range of drinks in the bar, nice wines (according to my friend), real ale, and a great choice of nonalcoholic beers ( I had the Brooklyn Special Effects).
All around us we heard people saying how good the food was, so this is a place where vegans, veggies, and meat eaters can all eat together and be equally well catered for.
Ian and Fiona have a great team here and all the staff were friendly and professional.
Oh, and it’s dog friendly.
I really can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Will definitely be back.

When we arrived we were offered a separate menu with veggie and vegan options. Everything we tried was very good and the staff were cheery and welcoming. Perfect after walking up the old post road from Peebles.

lovely food, lovely atmosphere! - Edit
We were looking for somewhere in the Borders with vegan options and came across this lovely little inn. The woman who served us was really friendly and the food tasted really nice. We had vegan burgers and a vegan chocolate cheesecake. Will definitely be back!
