Good solid donut - Edit
Had to stop in for a Maine potato donut while in Portland! There were a handful of vegan flavors on offer the day we were there. I tried the Chai, and it was very good. As others have stated, there was a line but it moved quickly. Great place to grab a sweet treat and a coffee to take on a stroll along the waterfront.

The idea of vegan donuts! - Edit
There’s a new Holy Donut in Brunswick. $5 a donut is steep with no discount for buying a dozen. Potato donuts are not light and fluffy, but dense and dunk able in your morning coffee. Hubs ran out and got 2 of each of the vegan donuts minus the plain one. I had the moka pot ready when he got back. We tried each of them. The cinnamon sugar had our highest rating. He loved the maple, I loved the coconut. I didn’t finish my half pieces of the key lime nor the cherry. His plate is pretty clean.

Yummy donuts! - Edit
Many of their donuts are vegan and all are delicious!! They also have oat milk to add to your coffee and their cold brew was shockingly delicious. Definitely a must when in the area.

Delicious donuts! - Edit
Had multiple vegan flavors, I tried the margarita and pomegranate, both delicious. They are cake style, not yeast (which I usually prefer), but quite good for cake donuts. Oat milk only for coffee and no lattes, only drip and cold brew.

Overrated donuts - Edit
I went at 8am and the donuts didn’t seem that fresh. Very dense and overly sweet for my taste. Lots of variety. The coffee was definitely from the day before as well, but the hash browns were yummy!

Excellent little donut shop with several interesting flavors of vegan donuts. I had the toasted coconut as they were out of maple. Really good.

"Dough not" miss it! - Edit
Not a huge donut fan to begin with but saw they had vegan options and the whole made from potato thing was intriguing. Got a vanilla with sprinkles and maple. Soooo good that you'll wonder if they gave you the vegan version! Highly recommend the maple as it has such an authentic maple taste🤤

So good. Vegan and nut free! - Edit
This place is amazing. I was overwhelmed with how many vegan options there were. And my bf who has a peanut/tree nut allergy could also eat the vegan donuts. That almost never happens!!! Win/win!!!

I’ve been told the sweet potato donut is wonderful. It, unfortunately, wasn’t available while I was in town.
Read moreInstead, I went for the lemon donut and the pomegranate donut - both of which were quite good and hit the spot, so to speak. I ordered it in advance for pick-up. Even on a rainy March morning, it was kind of a hot spot for locals and tourists alike (just a constant flow of people but not a long line).

SEVEN (7) Vegan Donut Flavors - Edit
Line was out the door; I'm pretty sure I was the only Vegan there. Was pleasantly surprised to find they had SEVEN (7) Vegan donuts today - see photo of receipt for specifics - I tried one (for now): the Vegan Toasted Coconut - delicious! And made from potatoes- who knew? Washed it down with an iced apple cider. Hmmmmm....😋

Pretty good - Edit
Not really vegan as advertised because of the sugar. I emailed them twice before going and asked if it was bone char-free, but they didn’t respond. We asked upon arrival, but they couldn’t “guarantee” the sugar source. Anyway, on to the donuts…pretty good, but I don’t get what all the hype is about. Dense without being oily, and sweet but not sickly so. The vegan ones were just the plain old fashioned donut with 3 different and tasty toppings. Fortunately, we passed a beggar nearby who took our remains.

Quite a few options in flavors. Donuts were yummy and fresh but we did have some that seemed to have sat in the oil for a bit too long.

Many vegan options - Edit
A lot of vegan donut options here. They are perfectly cooked, not too wet inside like many other vegan donuts. Perfect amount of frosting on the donuts and very flavorful. Pomegranate frosted is my favorite donut that I’ve had so far!

This place is a real destination in Portland, and they’ve earned it. Don’t go in expecting Dunkin’ Donuts - the signature product here is a moist cake donut made with Maine potatoes.

Wow! - Edit
Honestly I was skeptical of the potato factor, and my original first bites weren’t impressive, but as I kept eating the donuts got better and better! They had about 4-5 vegan options which is a lot for most stores. When I come back to Portland I’m coming back to Holy Donut!
