Missing a few things!

Had the breakfast bowl but the vegan sauce has changed, no longer the delicious avacado sauce 😕 Also am really missing the Green Goddess Soup and the Avacado toast isn’t the same. The green sauce was just sooo good. Hopefully the focus on more vegan options and features will be brought back.

Pros: Cozy atmosphere

Cons: Lost some originality

I’m a server at Heartwood Cafe as well as a vegan! I’m super passionate about spreading the word about the vegan options there! I’m so sorry about your most recent experience. We might have used our new “Vegan Hollandaise” Sauce on the Grilled Tomato Breakfast Bowl, which is what we use for our “Vegan Eggs Benedict” during our Sunday Brunch! We still have our normal Green Goddess Dressing though so feel free to ask for it next time! Thank you for the input though, I’ll be sure to share! We’ll be having more vegan/vegetarian options coming in February so I’d hope you could come and try them out, and let us know your thoughts! Thanks again.

Accidentally used milk

The first two times I came here, I was amazed, the food was great and the service was wonderful, I gave a 5 star rating on Facebook.
I came for a third time and ordered one of their elixirs, I explained that I was vegan and with a dairy allergy, so asked for almond milk instead of regular.
I was given my drink which I trusted to be non-dairy as this cafe prides itself on being a vegan friendly place. When the server took my food order I mentioned again that I was vegan, the server then said that she would be right back.
She came back a few minutes later to tell me that she had forgot, and that she had used regular milk in my elixir. She was apologetic and took it off my bill.
I know that mistakes can happen, but after a week long migraine I'm not sure I could trust going back here again

Pros: Vegan options, Friendly staff

Cons: Accidentally gave me milk

Yummy vegan options!

My go to place when I come into Medicine Hat! The staff are super friendly and accommodating to vegan requests. My favourite meal is the kimchi fries (original sauce is not vegan so make sure to ask for vegan option!) and the red pepper and tomato soup. The piece of toast that comes with the soup is vegan and if you mention that you’re vegan, they’ll sub out the butter for oil.

Pros: Friendly staff, Vegan options are delicious, Cozy environment

Cons: Slow service, Parking can be hard to find during busy times

Amazing local restaurant

Great food. Server was very knowledgeable about vegan options. Very good service, and the food was absolutely delicious.

Lots of vegan options

We had cauliflower salads and a vegan chilli. It was delicious. One of the funkier places in Medicine Hat. Not a chain and good local atmosphere.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options , They understand what vegan is, Service is friendly

Cons: Service is friendly but excruciatingly slow

Best vegan poutine I’ve had

Cute rustic cafe. Sells the beyond burger! Very friendly and helpful staff. Said they were happy to make any substitutions I wanted to make it vegan. I ordered a vegetable pizza and kimchi poutine. Was the best vegan poutine I’ve ever had. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because happy cow doesn’t let you give 5 stars to a non vegan restaurant
