Decent pizza - Edit
Note: this is now called Bus Club Pizza
Read moreNice base and good option to make any pizza vegan with changing to vegan cheese (minus meat obvs)
The vegan cheese was nice but I’d have liked a bit more of it!
I had the vegetarian with vegan cheese, this was a lovely load of roasted veg on top yum
Pros: Very generous with vegetable toppings
Cons: Could have been more generous with the cheese

Disappointing - Edit
On the four occasions I have been here, every single time they say that they have run out of cashew cheese. There are literally no other vegan options on the menu other than a salad. I ordered the bread and dip mezze and asked them to switch any non-vegan dips for vegan ones. When it arrived, I had to call the waitress back to the table to check about the dips, and she happily told me that two of them were not vegan. She offered to just take them away, and I said no, switch them with something that is. She didn't even apologise. She later told us that there is a lot of demand for the cashew cheese, but that she didn't 'rate it as i like normal cheese'. Won't be going back.

Very nice rustic pizza - Edit
We thought Hearth looked interesting so popped for an early evening meal. Our first thoughts were that it looked a bit basic but you soon realise that the effort here goes into the food and friendly atmosphere and not the decor. It made a change from the high street corporate chic of that well known vegan friendly pizza place. The waitress was extremely helpful checking that our selection was vegan. They even do a cashew nut cheese which was very tasty addition the the topping range. The mezze for two was excellent value at £5 for a starter. Over all a very pleasant meal and great value for money. Would have liked a few more toppings to chose from, I missed my favourite, artichokes, but you can't have everything.

Possibly the best pizza ever.. - Edit
It's a funny little location, above the bus station in a very 1960s building, but the most amazing pizza. I had a vegan cashew cheese margareta with extra rocket, and wow it was possibly the best pizza I've ever had (the other half had a vegetarian with vegan cheese). Wood fired, chewy sourdough, great organic local salad (an amazing little bowl bursting with flavours, lots of grated stuff, sprinkle of seeds on top), and friendly staff. An unexpected little hidden gem in Lewes.
