Amazing and authentic!

Happy Vegan Bakers has become a staple for my family and me. These ladies have so much variety in their offerings and we still haven’t tasted anything that isn’t delicious and satisfying. This is 100% a spot that everyone would enjoy.

Pros: Delicious food, Plenty of variety , Friendly staff

Soooooo worth it!!!!

It was a wait because the pastries are cooked upon request, something which i guess can be resolved by calling ahead. Either way it was all sooooo very delicious that it was worth every minute and then some.
I'll be heading to their other location in Hialeah for lunch 😊

Waste of time

I tryed to go, and it turns out the place is really hard to find and also you can't just show up you need to order online before hand because they don't keep any vegan pastries at the store they say they close at 7 yet you can't order anything past 6

I’m not sure if this was the case back in 2019, but my family and I go a couple of times a week at least and they have tons of pastries with lots of variety onsite and you do not have to call in advance or order online to enjoy their food.

Inside El Tejadito Bakery

Whoa...excellent little treats! You have to wait for them to heat up (12 minutes), but it is totally worth it.

Hidden Gem

This place has amazing vegan options. If some of the options weren’t sold out, I would’ve purchased everything on the menu!

Pros: A great selection of authentic Colombian food, Friendly staff, The vegan options are stored separately

Cons: They sell out quickly , Small seating area

Pastelitos!!

Their tamales are incredible! The pastelitos are huuuuge. I am in love with them and so happy to have watched them grow into what they are today. I always have an amazing experience with them and when sharing their baked goods with others. Steph is the sweetest and was so helpful when I was first going vegan a few years ago. Everything they have is a must try!
Pro tip: if you want tamales call 45 min in advance so they can cook it for you! And get the hot sauce!!

Pros: Croquetas!, DELICIOUS, Everything

Hidden gem!!

The Happy Vegan Bakers is inside a charming, authentic Colombian bakery. There isn’t a lot of seating, so we got the goodies and ate in the car. Your best bet is (for sure!) to call ahead to order, as all the items are made to order. It sounds like a pain, but you won’t mind at all once you taste how delicious they are. Pastelitos are light and flakey, croquettas are crispy on the outside and soft and warm in the inside (just like ‘real’ croquettas). We only tried the flour empanadas, which were okay, but we can’t wait to try the Colombian style (corn) empanadas next time. Staff is warm, friendly, and bilingual (great for gringos like me!).

Pros: Delicious food, Local family establishment

Cons: Need to plan ahead or be ready to wait, No seating

my favorite

Ok so being Cuban this place is a blessing! This is definitely my type of comfort food the fact that they were able to veganize croquetas is beyond me! And my parents are non vegan Cubans and they think it’s good everytime I go I get a big box of pastelitos just how my parents used to get for me, the owners are actually super sweet I always have a conversation whenever I go in I truly love this place. Everything is made to order so it’s always fresh and the owners are vegan so they get it and there’s never cross contamination

Come for the Empanadas

Tasty baked and fried empanadas among other baked and fried goodies. Also got to try brand new potato torta that was crispy on the outside and full of vegan beef on the inside- a great treat. It’s a little bit of a trek from South Beach but well worth it in my opinion. The food was delicious!

Awesome vegan empanadas and pastelitos!

Love this bakery. Want delicious Colombian empanadas and pastelitos vegan style? Then this is the place! Only thing is you need to call in advance for the vegan food otherwise you’re waiting at least 30 minutes for the food. It’s a bit far from the center of Miami but worth the drive!

Pros: Delicious authentic food made vegan

Cons: Long waiting time, Far from center of Miami

My favorite bakery

This place is so good. I've tried everything on the vegan bakery multiple times. I make the 30-40 minute treck out very often because it is so worth it. They have everything from "cheese" rollups, empanadas (fried and baked), tamales, and vegan pastries. This discrete bakery is a gem!

Pros: Vegan Latin Food and Pastries, Good value, Great owners

2 words: VEGAN BAKERY!

Recently heard about this place and decided to try it out and I'm in love! I ordered all the empanadas, meat pastelito, kibbehs, and texas toast. I'm beyond happy with how they tasted, I even ordered some pastelitos to go. The staff was very kind and the bakery is clean and cozy. They sell a bunch of Colombian products as well.

Whenever I'm in the Kendall area, I will definitely pass by again!

Pros: Vegan Bakery, Friendly Staff, Delicious Options

EVERYTHING we had was amazing! The only thing we didn't get to try yet was the tamal because we were so full. We are convinced no one would know it's vegan unless advised. Definitely coming back!

amazing!!!

If you like pastelitos but you're vegan and you gave up on ever having another pastelito or tamale in your life...then I have good news for you! The pastelitos are flaky, buttery, delicious. You just need to come and try them. Trust me!

Can't eat just one

This is THE place to go to if you want empanadas with "chicken" or "beef" , pastelitos with "meat" or guava and cheese. I have served these to my nonvegan family and they couldn't tell the difference. They also make the best vegan Columbian tamales that not only are delicious but very big. The customer service is great and anytime that I have message them they answer in less than 5 minutes and my order is ready when I get there.

Pros: Delicious, Great variety , Friendly

Magical little spot

I walked into El Tejadito determined to try these little treats. I'd been seeing The Happy Vegan Bakers pastries continuously popping up on my Instagram feed because friends were raving about how delicious these treat were. They weren't wrong. If you didn't grow up vegan and miss your pastelitos these will more than do the trick.

Pros: flavor , taste , service
