Mediocre but hits the spot - Edit
It’s your basic vegan junk food menu with lots of fake meat. I ordered the garlic chikn burrito. I am a garlic fiend. Like I’ve never met a dish too garlicky for me. Until I ate this. I swear it had like 30 crushed cloves in it and a whole mess of guacamole. It felt more like a garlic guacamole burrito than anything else (see the photo, that was just one bite!). I’m giving 3 stars because my partner ordered the Buffalo chickn and it was significantly better but not amazing. It’s Berkeley so if you are looking for a vegan spot you can do better and skip this one.

Wish I had a Better Experience - Edit
I so badly wanted to like this place, but the service and food was disappointing. It started with the wait staff being sooo needlessly slow. Nothing was going on and there were very few people, but still she acted half asleep. I ordered upgraded cheese fries, and it came out with a big, long black hair mixed with the fries and covered in sauce. Yuck. They replaced the fries quickly. The cheese sauce is good, but fries were way over salted. Then my BBQ burger had so little BBQ sauce on it I couldn’t taste it most of the time. The onion ring in the burger was fried with the tough skin on so I had to dissect it to remove it. The Thai Iced Tea was mediocre at best, not worth $5. Wish I could have left a better review. :(

This place was awesome. Got an array of things with friends. Everything was really tasty and spiced up. My brother, who isn't vegan (yet!) said he really enjoyed it and couldn't tell the soy chicken was vegan.

Some of the best vegan comfort food in the area! - Edit
I ordered from Happy Hooligans via Uber Eats. We got a little selection of chicken style nuggets, a “fish” and chips and a chocolate cake. Everything was really tasty and a pretty good price for vegan food in this area. Portions were a good size and overall really good value for money. I’d definitely like to visit the physical location and try some more of what’s on offer! Hopefully we have time before we leave.

I did not like the food at Happy Hooligans. The Reuben sandwich was tasteless and the fries were insipid. The best thing we got was the store-bought fish filets. I would advise you not to go there.

I’m new to this area and this is one of the first vegan spots I’ve visited. I also know that I’ll be coming back here whenever I can afford it because it was SO DELICIOUS! It was definitely one of the best, if not THE best, vegan burgers I’ve had.

Amazing Vegan Comfort Food - Edit
My partner and I were craving some comfort food, and we weren’t disappointed! We ordered the nachos supreme and hangry fries with Thai teas. The cheese on the fries tastes believable, and I liked how the teas were well-balanced and actually tasted like tea! I didn’t try the nachos, but the fact that my partner didn’t share says all you need to know 😂

Yay! New location! - Edit
I was so happy to discover that Happy Hooligans has a restaurant in Berkeley. I've eaten at their San Jose location in the past and was excited to visit this location on a recent visit to Berkeley.
Read moreWe were welcomed by more than one friendly employee when we arrived. The interior of the restaurant is bright and open.
I had the BBQ Chick'n Box and it was delicious especially when I added the dressing that came on the side (ranch?). It was a lot of food and I was able to take home leftovers. I really liked the BBQ "chick'n".
I'll definitely come back when I visit Berkeley again.

Amazing vegan addition in Berkeley - Edit
Had the bbq chicken burrito and it was delicious! It was on the pricey side at $13 but it was giant and really 2 meals worth of food (but I had a hard time stopping at half!) Their vegan sour cream is the best I have had yet. Staff was friendly. Note that the prices were a bit cheaper if you call in to order vs using Yelp/Grubhub to order. I want to try their dessert some time!

Absolutely incredible! - Edit
One of my faves! Customer service is absolutely amazing especially Song, he was so nice & let us try some Thai Tea while we waited for our food (which is AMAZING btw) My favorite was the Buffalo Chicken BLT and the Hangry Fries! I'll definitely be coming here often 10/10 recommend!
