Really great buzzy cafe with lots of space inside over 2 floors and outdoor seating if it's warm. The staff were super Friendly. I had the tofu tacos which were absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault them. That sweet spot between healthy and indulgent

Great vegan options, super sweet staff, very dog-friendly. Our waitress went above and beyond to make our pups feel welcomed. She cleaned a table in the corner for us, brought them water and even a snack (after asking us for permission to do so). The food itself was great, particularly the vegan French toast. Would highly recommend this place.

Unusual vegan breakfast - Edit
The vegan brunch at The Handlebar was very interesting, and comprised of the best tofu scramble on toast I've ever had, plus a range of other things that raised eyebrows, such a sweet-ish and bbq-ish jackfruit, raw carrot, cold edamame beans, mixed smoky beans, and plain boiled potatoes. Perhaps we're a bit too northern to appreciate most of those things at breakfast time? But it was worth the visit for the fab tofu alone! Also the service was very friendly and fast :)

It's quite expensive, but there are lots of delicious vegan options and the atmosphere is really lovely. The cafes with good meals are quite limited in Oxford, so this is perfect for a brunch!

We went here based on the Happy Cow reviews and we’re so glad we did! It really is an amazing breakfast! Smoothies were yummy, too. There were lots of other choices on the menu but I can definitely recommend the All Plants.

My Favourite Cafe In Oxford! - Edit
Every time I visit Oxford I have to go to The Handle Bar Cafe! It’s rustic, relaxed and the food is amazing. I love their breakfast/brunch menu which has lots of vegan options. I always order the vegan fruit pancakes because they’re so delicious. They often change the toppings of the pancakes but every time I visit they get better! My mum tried the avocado with chickpeas and kale on toast and she said it’s the best she’s ever had! They also have a vegan breakfast on offer, granola, things on toast, and some more lunch/dinner options. If you’re vegan (or not) and looking for great food in a cute cafe; The Handle Bar is the place to go! Their smoothies are also a must try! The only thing I’d say is that it is very expensive but I think it’s worth it because I haven’t found vegan food as good as this anywhere else in Oxford yet.

The Handle Bar is really cute, the decoration is very bike oriented and the menu has plenty of choices. Still a lot of meat on the menu and most of the veggie things are avocado toasts oriented 🥑. We mostly loved the French waiter who was on point, he seemed to be everywhere at the same time and he was really good at his job. Yes to European workers coming to work in our country. ❤️ 🇪🇺

Simply fantastic. The place is cosy and nicely decorated, staff is extremely friendly and the food is delicious, as well as the coffee. I tried a couple of vegan options: lemon drizzle cake (delicious) and coconut pancakes (super delicious).

I’ve been to the Handlebar a couple of times now and t never disappoints: the breakfast is great (the pancakes are to die for!) the sandwiches are delicious, the lunch is SO amazing! Lots and lots of delicate great flavours and textures going on!

Vegan and vegetarian options are available. I have been pleased to find vegan cakes. The staff is very friendly and the main room at the first floor is really charmfull. I wish the owner will develop the vegan options.
