The vegan cafe is at the end of the Habitat walk. It's part of the gift shop.

Great surprise - Edit
So happy to see that they take protection of nature and animals seriously here with a completely vegan cafe. The options are limited but the quiche and the focaccia were great snacks after walking through the park.

5 stars mostly for the pleasant surprise - Edit
I think if you would have this in a place with more vegan options it would score less high, as the food is good and well spiced but all snacks and microwaves.

Hot Chocolate! - Edit
Stopped off here on January 22, 2025 after a visit to the Habitat. We got caught in an afternoon downpour and were pretty much drenched by the time we reached the café. Hot chocolate made with oat milk was delicious and welcoming!

Scenic Dining Experience on Penang Hill - Edit
Just had lunch here, and the whole experience was lovely. The dining area is outdoors, allowing you to enjoy your meal while taking in the serene forest surroundings. Currently, there’s no direct line to the café staff, the contact number connects to the staff at The Habitat. If you’d rather not walk, you can call to arrange a free buggy ride from the roundabout to the restaurant.
Read moreWhile I found the main dishes to be average, the beverages and desserts, especially the vegan cakes, were absolutely heavenly. The food is good, the atmosphere is great, but it’s on the pricier side. That said, this spot is definitely worth a visit, especially given its location on Penang Hill.

Lovely Vegan Cafe - Edit
This little cafe is located within the gift shop building at the back entrance of the Habitat, outside of the ticketed area. If you enter Habitat from the entrance closest to the funicular and walk right the way through, you will find this when you exit through the turnstile, before taking the shuttle back to the funicular.
Read moreThere are a few mains, plus hot/iced drinks, some small snacks, cake, and individual pots of ice cream, all vegan.
We each had a curry puff. The filling was well seasoned and fairly generous, and the pastry was good and flaky. It felt like it had just been heated up in a microwave because the pastry was a bit soggy rather than nice and crisp. But it was good, and I'd definitely have it again.
We also tried a slice of cake each, I got carrot and walnut and my partner had black forest. Both slices were huge, we were thrilled! The black forest cake was quite moist and chocolatey, with good amounts of cream and fruit. The carrot cake was really beautifully spiced and light.
We also got a couple of iced chocolate milks, which were not too sweet and very refreshing on a hot day.
It was a really welcome spot when we emerged from our walk, highly recommended if you're going to Habitat.

All vegan deliciousness! - Edit
Super unexpected to find a completely plant-based restaurant up at Penang Hill! From savory dishes to snacks and vegan cakes - they got it all! The burgerless burger was delicious but my highlight was definitely the cake! Fluffy, moist, flavorful, exactly what you want. Enjoy the atmosphere, fuel up and continue exploring Penang Hill!
