Post lockdown treat - Edit
A recent walk along the canal into Bath & impromptu lunch here. Really delicious vegan burger, salad & chips. Good service, friendly & polite. Sat outside & watched the world go by, including 2 juvenile peregrine falcons flying around. My perfect lunch!

Delicious vegan food - you must go! - Edit
Absolutely loved the food at green rocket - we ordered the gnocchi and burger - both were amazing. Sweet potato fries were great but that’s expected. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing too. Brunch looked good too but didn’t manage to try this.

Great vegan and gluten free choices, great location - Edit
Green Rocket is always busy but they’ll let you wait for a table. I love that you can clearly see what is vegan and gluten free on the menu. Cool restaurant with a good atmosphere. I’ve really liked everything I’ve eaten here and am usually too stuffed for dessert! Close to the river and a cute park, with parking close by.

Lovely food, lovely staff - Edit
Went here for lunch and cake. Food was really tasty (had trouble choosing from the menu because it all sounded so good!) and staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Nice relaxed atmosphere as well, didn't feel rushed at all, which makes a nice change from some places. Would reccomend if you're in Bath!

They still serve dairy. - Edit
We went to visit Green Rocket Cafe again, after hearing they had taken the leap to fully vegan. We were so excited that we invited our friends visiting from the other side of the planet!
Read moreUnfortunately, the majority of their food was disappointing, bland and lacklustre. The only positive being their onion rings which were delicious!
We didn't mention our concerns whilst there, for two reasons - they were rushed off their feet and nobody asked us how our food was. As I stood up to put my coat on, a family quite literally pushed us off our table - they had been stood in the corridor behind us, waiting to pounce on a table. The whole experience felt rushed and impersonal. Get you in and get you out.
When we went to pay, we kind of hoped they would ask how everything was so we could quietly mention it, unfortunately they did not. We thought about ordering a coffee - until we saw they were still serving cows milk? On google they list themselves as a vegan restaurant and their staff said everything on the menu was vegan, might be worth considering clarifying this to avoid confusion.
Happy Cow wouldn't allow a 1* review as they are listed as a fully vegan or vegetarian restaurant.
Pros: Location
Cons: Poor Food Quality, Poor Service, Serves Cows Milk but say they are vegan

Nice food, confusing menu - Edit
The food here was really nice, maybe on the pricier end but still a great option. I would definitely recommend the bang bang cauliflower, absolutely delicious! I just assumed all of the things on the menu were vegan and couldn't find anything on it that showed it was vego? Not even cows milk.

Delicious food - Edit
We visited bath for the christmas market and came here as it’s one of my favourite places to eat after living in bath. I had a mocha with oat milk which was amazing and we both ordered the soups for something warm on such a cold day. They were absolutely delicious and so warming and filling. The only faults would be as previously mentioned, slow service and I was a bit confused as to why vegan options weren’t labelled on their menu but it could be as every option is? I wasn’t told either way. We waited about 40 minutes for two soups with bread. Personally it was worth the wait as the food is always outstanding and very generous portions, but I would be wary going there if you need to be somewhere. The staff were very apologetic and friendly.

Great food slow service - Edit
The food here was faultless. It was super delicious, well cooked and wholesome. However, the operational side of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Hot chocolate arrived in 5 mins, green juice took 40 mins then the food 45 mins. I saw the kitchen when I went to the restroom and it’s the size of a shoebox and can no way cater for a full service if all buns are on seats, there is not enough space to operate in and running a restaurant isn’t just about good food it’s about efficient timely service. If you are going to go make sure you are one of the first customers in, do not enter in the middle of a breakfast, lunch or dinner service you might end up frustrated with the weight.

Family lunch - Edit
Popped in for a family lunch. Vegetarian cafe going vegan. Food was great. No children size meals. Poor table management. Front room had three tables for four with couples sitting at them. Sadly no one would move to the available tables for two. Coffee machine set so hot the coffee was burnt.

Sunday Lunch - Edit
Full disclosure: I'm not vegan. I'm not even vegetarian, but I've developed intolerances to dairy and egg, which means that the easiest way for me to have a meal out is to go to a vegan restaurant. My fiancé plays along, but pretends to be generally grumpy about it. This is how we wound up at The Green Rocket Cafe, and we're pleased we did.
Read moreI had the Sunday mushroom, lentil, and nut roast with parsnips, carrots, potatoes, and kale. You could have fooled me into thinking the gravy was beef (it wasn't), and the potatoes had the richness of being roasted in butter (they weren't). My partner had the gnocchi arabiatta that had a lovely cashew cream cheese, and he was very happy (not even fake grumpy). A lot of vegan food I've had in the past has been quite salty...not an issue here.
The food came quickly, and the woman who served us was really friendly. The cafe also has a lovely atmosphere. We didn't book, but I think it was dumb luck that we got a table straight away. There was a queue almost out the door when we left!
So, thank you to The Green Rocket Cafe for making lunch easy (none of the "I can have this, but I can't have that) and tasty. A really pleasant afternoon meal, and lovely, friendly staff.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff, Great price point and good portions
Cons: You may need to wait for a table
