Decent food, pricey - Edit

Food was decent, portions were a bit small. Not a lot of vegan choices. Still, happy to find a place in El Paso that is trying to offer something different and healthy.

Pros: Nice place, Nice staff

Cons: Prices, Parking , Location

Good and a bit pricey - Edit

Three of us ate lunch here. One of us had a veggie burger which he said was delicious but a bit mushy. One of us had a quinoa salad with avocado which she said was delicious. One of us had the tofu stir fry which was $17 for lunch, which seemed a bit expensive but it was really delicious. The coconut rice was too sweet, but the grilled bokchoy and all of the vegetables served with the tofu were very good.
We also had an appetizer that was some sort of mashed potato thing with beets and maybe pomegranite seeds and avocado. It was delicious.
This place serves meat, which is a downside. But there are a lot of well marked vegan options on the menu.

Pros: Good food

Cons: expensive

Decent healthy vegan food for the wealthy - Edit

I've been to The Green Ingredient quite a few times. I usually enjoy my experience here. I've ordered almost all of the vegan options on the menu and was only disappointed in one (the lasagna was surprisingly bland). They don't have as many vegan options as I would expect them to have considering how they market themselves. They don't even have vegan cheese for adding to the tofu scramble. The menu is very very overpriced AND you have to pay for parking (which they no longer validate). I can only go for special occasions when I have work off because their hours are so limited.

Pros: Healthy vegan options available

Cons: Overpriced menu, You have to pay for parking, Very limited hours

Vegan in Texas!! - Edit

I came here while on a road trip. My dad had looked up places for us to eat at before hand (I'm vegan, he's not). I was pretty excited to see a vegan place in Texas. Having grown up in Dallas, it can be pretty hard to find places to eat in a state that has a lot of cattle ranches. I was very pleased to find a place that had both vegan and omnivore offerings. I got the Cauliflower Buffalo "wings" as my main with cucumber water and the Berry Tarte for dessert (which we demolished quickly). It was all really good. I wish I had tried the vegan lasagna or GI Panini...maybe next time. The service is great. They are very friendly! A member of the band Korn even ate here! It's in the bottom level of the Chase building, which was pretty confusing, but the enterance is near the vallet parking.

Horrible - Edit

This place was a complete waste of money. The menu is extremely overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. I had the buffalo cauliflower and some kind of cilantro quinoa dish. I'm really not picky, but these dishes had no flavor and were way overpriced for what they were. I will not return.

Cons: Dishes lack flavor, Way overpriced

Disappointed - Edit

I wanted a fresh juice prior to my dinner and was told the juice bar closed at 3pm. I didn't see this on the menu or on the website. The website indicates where to park (inside Chase building) but doesn't indicate that they will validate the parking IF using the inside parking garage. This would have been nice to know before we parked across the street. We went on a Friday night and there was a guest singer that night. He told us that he sings there every other Friday. The place is small-- not a good time to go if you want to converse with your party. We did sit a table from the singer to be fair. I bought the cheese trio expecting a taste explosion, all I tasted instead were nuts and tartness from the lemon. I did ask for more bread and got some without additional charge. We ordered the tofu stir fry, the tofu was raw and the entree was drenched in some type of oil. I am familiar with miso and I couldn't distinguish it in the meal per the menu description. I expected something a little more traditional but this was far from it. We also ordered the Falafel after we asked if it could be made vegan (server said they could omit the cheese from the salad it came with). When we got the Falafel it had no sauce, when I asked for it she told me it was not vegan-- would have been nice to know this when we asked how it could be made vegan prior to ordering. The sauce makes a Falafel! The Madagascar Almond Spice tea tasted like a watered down cherry kool aid with very little sweetness. The servings were more than adequate. The service was great, the food presentation was very good, and the place was clean. I asked to take the rest of the falafel sandwich and the farro tabbouleh home and was brought an earth friendly box for the falafel, yet a styrofoam container for the farro tabbouleh – not very “Green” at all. I was really disappointed that the food wasn't better and that the prices were so crazy expensive.

Pros: Service, Clean Place, Food Presentation

Cons: Price, Inaccurate menu description, Noisy -every other Friday

What a nice place! - Edit

This little spot is hidden away and hard to find (in my opinion!). The actual entrance is on north Mesa street (inside the Chase bank building)between East Main & East Franklin :).

The food here really is great- it was a treat to see interesting and unusual options that were so fresh and yummy.
Really liked it here and pleased to see how busy they were in an otherwise relatively quiet (business orientated) town!

Pros: inventive, fresh

Cons: hard to find

Fantastic! - Edit

Now it is possible to visit El Paso. Finally there is a place that serves real food in El Paso.
The food is excellent, the staff is extremely friendly and the prices are fair.
It is too bad they are not open for dinner everyday. I suppose not everyday of the week it is possible to visit El Paso. I will definitely will time my visits to whenever I can have dinner at The Green Ingredient.
Their raw tacos are delicious but make sure you make space for their vegan desserts. YUMMY!

Pros: Excellent location, Vegan options, Gluten free options

Cons: Not all the menu is vegan, Not open for dinner everday

A five star GOURMET health restaurant !!! - Edit

Finally an extremely healthy restaurant in El Paso. On top of it the food at The Green Ingredient is amazingly delicious. Check their web pages and you will see why.
They have organic, vegan, vegetarian, raw, fermented, dehydrated and also options for people who are not strictly vegetarian. The menu is mostly vegetarian.
The Green ingredient put a lot of effort into their dishes in order to make them tasty, healthy and beautifully served. This is my favorite restaurant in El Paso.
It's located inside the Chase building in downtown. As of September 2013 they will have more opening hours. I'm very happy we have this kind of restaurant in El Paso!!! Enjoy!!!
