Best Vegan Restuarant in NC - Edit
Tops any vegan restaurant I have been to in NC. Drinks are fresh, the lions mane is a meal you will not forget. Chocolate cake is soo good. Went last year and have been thinking about it since. Please keep this place in business.

👀 What am I missing here? We had brunch and it was mediocre. We waited > 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and the biscuits were burnt. The tofu scramble was soggy, and all of the dishes would’ve benefited from salt. It made me wonder if the intended clientele might be under doctor’s orders not to have any sodium. Positives: our server was very nice & the atmosphere was pleasant.

We drove an hour and it was worth every minute. We finally got to the fancy gourmet restaurant experience with all vegan food.
Read moreWe had the beet tartare and farroto, then the watermelon salad and the corn bisque, followed by the lions mane mushrooms entree and the eggplant tian. All the dishes had complex balanced flavor profiles.
Service was excellent.

Great flavors but disappointing portion for pasta dish - Edit
We were looking forward to trying this restaurant for a while. The flavors did not disappoint. Artfully prepared. Creative choices. Fresh ingredients. Really some excellent food. Strongly recommend with an asterisk for one of our entrees.
Read moreSadly the pesto ravioli, had only a few tiny ravioli and nothing else on the plate. This was more like an appetizer portion but was the most expensive entre on the menu. For the price, even with the delicious flavor this was not worth the price. Suggest asking about portion size for entrees if you are hungry.

Ordered Risotto appetizer which was fantastic. Hubby got the grilled cabbage; it is nearly a whole head, recommend sharing (it also has a kick to it.) It took an unusually long time for our appetizers to come out. Main dish for me was Lion’s Main mushroom with creamed potatoes and asparagus. Very delicious; wish I could have had it done just a little longer. Hubby had Chick pea sausage dish.

Perfect Special Dinner - Edit
The Best Dinner (vegan or otherwise) we’ve had in years. Was in Wilmington in December on days when closed. Made a point of coming back just to eat here. Love that they change up the menu frequently and cook with ingredients grown on-site and/or locally sourced. The portions were generous too. We had appetizers and entrees and were hard pressed to pick our favorites. Luckily, we were there on half-price wine list and enjoyed our selections.

Read moreThe woman said I “must be” taking out when I walked in (yes, in a tee shirt and joggers, but the hostess was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt too, and we are at the beach). So, i wasn’t blown away by the atmosphere, it was nice enough, but I also don’t want to be judged for what I am wearing if I plan to drop $60 on a meal for one at an empty restaurant.
The salad was outstanding, if a little small. The pasta was okay. It was tasty, but I wish that there had been more than 3 mushrooms in a dish titled “mushroom bucatini”- it was mostly pasta in a creamy sauce.
The bread pudding sounded amazing but was not, I ended up throwing most of it away.
All in all I would recommend going and trying if you’re in Wilmington, but only if you have a good amount of $$$ to throw around and a nice outfit to wear on your beach vacation.

I’m both vegan and gluten-free and it’s great to have a place where I know without asking that I can eat absolutely anything on the menu. And, from appetizers to desserts, it really is all good. And interesting flavors and combinations. Everything is well thought out - food, cocktails and mock tails, and decor. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I always check out the ladies room and this one gets an A for being really clean, having all of the things that should be there, and reusable hand towels.

From the minute you step in it is a wonderful experience! The staff, the ambiance, the menu. Impeccable taste! Menu changes accordingly to seasons, they have dinner hours and brunch on weekends. The food is unbelievably good and the bar has incredible alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails as well as wine and beer. By far my favorite restaurant!!! And my non-vegan husband’s too!

This is the vegan restaurant we really needed in Wilmington. I went there today on for my birthday dinner, and it was the highlight of the day. The atmosphere, service, food, everything was perfection. The food was unique and some of the freshest (hence the name) plants I’ve ever consumed. The Green House is a must-go!

It is amazing that a 100% vegan and gluten free menu can be this delectable. The cheese board was delicious though the portions were tiny (just enough for a taste of each cheese and sausage). There were 4 of us and 4 entrees to choose from so we each got one and had a taste of each. I had the lions mane Milanese which was delicious but I would have been happy with any of the dishes! We also ordered all 3 of the desserts and shared them—again how to choose between examples of perfection?! Definitely pricey but great for a date night or special occasion. Ambiance is great and they use low waste/sustainable practices.

There are still very few completely vegan restaurants and even fewer really nice, upscale ones. The Green House is definitely one of the best I have ever been delicious.! It is just amazing how tasty plant-based food can be when prepared with care, creativity and love and respect for the planet. The actual physical environment is lovely and has an elegant, relaxed vibe. Very, very nice decor. The personnel from the waitresses, to the manager to the owner was also great. They were just so welcoming and hospitable. There was a misunderstanding on the main dish that my husband ordered. He decided to just eat it but when the manager found out, she insisted on giving him the additional dish with no extra charge to take with us. We felt really cared for and had a great evening! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Amazing to have an entire menu vegan and gluten free! Although it made choosing really hard. We ate on the patio with heaters for dinner and spent about two hours sampling as much as we could. Love that they have a Zero Proof drink menu too!

I got the butternut minestrone which was described as having a squash base but was actually just a few chunks of butternut among some other veg. It was the only dish I could easily have made at home and wasn’t as thrilled with.
The charcuterie board was yummy and a great item to share and whet our appetites.
I had the gnocchi for an entree and wasn’t in love with it (a bit oily for me) so I swapped with my dad and ate his autumn harvest which I enjoyed.
Wonderful service, and a really special experience. I probably shouldn’t have gone running beforehand because I wasn’t full after (this is a place for presentation not volume.)

If you want an upscale, fresh, delicious dining experience this is the place in wilmington. It’s pricey but I personally find it worth supporting a local all vegan business and the occasional night out to treat yourself! Food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are on point! I think it’s mostly (if not all) gluten free as well if that’s something you need. Non vegans will love too!
