Upscale vegan dining in a beautiful, light, airy space - Edit
The Green House did not disappoint for my birthday dinner last week. The food was amazing and I was pleasantly surprised at their extensive menu of non-alcoholic spirits, mocktails, and a couple of NA wines. I got to try NA bourbon (Kentucky 75) and it was great as well as the NA chardonnay. (And my husband enjoyed their great selection of alcohol bourbon too.) We tried several dishes, but the standouts for me were the smorgasbord, tortellini soup, and the most delicious cornbread! The cornbread was so good we got a second order to take home. We also LOVED their desserts. The crema catalana (like creme brule) was fabulous. The apple cheesecake was also wonderful. Service was also fast and friendly.

Delicious vegan meal! - Edit
Our dinner at The Green House was both delicious food and an exceptional experience. My husband and I split several appetizers and left so pleased! Our favorite was the fried arancini, but also loved the smoked cauliflower and the sweet cornbread (the whipped butter was delightful). The service was excellent and felt very personal. I wish we lived closer, we'd be here for all our birthdays and special dinners.

Best date night spot - Edit
I absolutely love their drinks and food! Their dishes aren’t the biggest but they are the most delicious and filling because the ingredients they use are fresh, unique and local. Their mocktails are to die for and the staff is so friendly.

Fresh, vibrant and delicious food & A++ SERVICE - Edit
Came in on a Wednesday night *wine Wednesday = half off glasses of wine* I had soup, an appetizer, lions main steak & got the cheesecake to go!! Photos don't do it justice! The wine was so good. Tortellini en Brodo was one of the best soups I've ever had - somehow light but hearty. Fried Aranchini was so delicious and the sauces combined so well together! I've never had lion's mane prepared this way (only fried) and it was sooo buttery in texture but crispy on the outside! And don't get my started on the potato pave it was served with! I wish I lived closer so I could visit Austin and try the entire menu! Cheesecake texture was a little off for me but taste was 10/10. Service was above and beyond!

Oh…my…..GOODNESS! - Edit
Since I’ve started this plant based lifestyle 10 years ago, I have only been to a few exquisite vegan restaurants. The Green House Restaurant just made first place in my top three. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful! Expect to spend a good chunk of money, but it’s worth it. I ordered the Sweet Cornbread, Smoked Sausage, and Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake with raspberry sauce for my meal. Topping things off, the service itself was top notch! If you plan on visiting Wilmington, NC or Carolina Beach, NC, make a reservation and stop on by The Green House! 😉

Disappointed - Edit
We returned because we had thoroughly enjoyed the food two years ago. However, this visit was rather disappointing. We ordered one appetizer and four different entrees, but the food was overly salty, mediocre, and served in small portions (the latter was expected). The quality did not justify the price at all.

Best Vegan Restuarant in NC - Edit
Tops any vegan restaurant I have been to in NC. Drinks are fresh, the lions mane is a meal you will not forget. Chocolate cake is soo good. Went last year and have been thinking about it since. Please keep this place in business.

⭐️⭐️ - Edit
👀 What am I missing here? We had brunch and it was mediocre. We waited > 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and the biscuits were burnt. The tofu scramble was soggy, and all of the dishes would’ve benefited from salt. It made me wonder if the intended clientele might be under doctor’s orders not to have any sodium. Positives: our server was very nice & the atmosphere was pleasant.

Great flavors but disappointing portion for pasta dish - Edit
We were looking forward to trying this restaurant for a while. The flavors did not disappoint. Artfully prepared. Creative choices. Fresh ingredients. Really some excellent food. Strongly recommend with an asterisk for one of our entrees.
Read moreSadly the pesto ravioli, had only a few tiny ravioli and nothing else on the plate. This was more like an appetizer portion but was the most expensive entre on the menu. For the price, even with the delicious flavor this was not worth the price. Suggest asking about portion size for entrees if you are hungry.
Pros: Flavors, Fresh ingredients, Good service
Cons: Very small portion size for $$$ entre

Beautiful place, good food - Edit
Ordered Risotto appetizer which was fantastic. Hubby got the grilled cabbage; it is nearly a whole head, recommend sharing (it also has a kick to it.) It took an unusually long time for our appetizers to come out. Main dish for me was Lion’s Main mushroom with creamed potatoes and asparagus. Very delicious; wish I could have had it done just a little longer. Hubby had Chick pea sausage dish.

Perfect Special Dinner - Edit
The Best Dinner (vegan or otherwise) we’ve had in years. Was in Wilmington in December on days when closed. Made a point of coming back just to eat here. Love that they change up the menu frequently and cook with ingredients grown on-site and/or locally sourced. The portions were generous too. We had appetizers and entrees and were hard pressed to pick our favorites. Luckily, we were there on half-price wine list and enjoyed our selections.
Read moreThe service staff was friendly and attentive. Could have been more precise on who ordered what, but that was minor. Would definitely go out of our way to come back
Pros: All Vegan, Many Gluten-free options, Menu items we wouldn’t/couldn’t cook for self
Cons: Not open 7 days a week

Pretty good, but expensive - Edit
I had a salad, a pasta dish, and a dessert. Ordered all to-go.
Read moreThe woman said I “must be” taking out when I walked in (yes, in a tee shirt and joggers, but the hostess was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt too, and we are at the beach). So, i wasn’t blown away by the atmosphere, it was nice enough, but I also don’t want to be judged for what I am wearing if I plan to drop $60 on a meal for one at an empty restaurant.
The salad was outstanding, if a little small. The pasta was okay. It was tasty, but I wish that there had been more than 3 mushrooms in a dish titled “mushroom bucatini”- it was mostly pasta in a creamy sauce.
The bread pudding sounded amazing but was not, I ended up throwing most of it away.
All in all I would recommend going and trying if you’re in Wilmington, but only if you have a good amount of $$$ to throw around and a nice outfit to wear on your beach vacation.
Pros: Lots of options, Tasty food
Cons: Expensive, Not so great service experience , Bad dessert

Awesome Vegan Fine Dining - Edit
I’m both vegan and gluten-free and it’s great to have a place where I know without asking that I can eat absolutely anything on the menu. And, from appetizers to desserts, it really is all good. And interesting flavors and combinations. Everything is well thought out - food, cocktails and mock tails, and decor. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I always check out the ladies room and this one gets an A for being really clean, having all of the things that should be there, and reusable hand towels.

The food is unbelievably good and the bar has incredible alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails as well as wine and beer. By far my favorite restaurant!!! And my non-vegan husband’s too!
