it's just ok - Edit
I don't know why people rave about this place. Yes it's great to go somewhere and have the Entire menu vegan but the quality of food is so so. I've been there at least half a dozen times, for breakfast lunch and dinner and I've never had a meal that was more than average.

Love! - Edit
I absolutely love The Green Edge! The food menu can be a bit hit and miss, but you can't go wrong with the burgers! The satay tofu burger is heaven, plus the convenience of being able to do a cheeky vegan shopping trip while I'm there is fantastic.

Dependable - Edit
I make a point of revisiting this cafe every time I am in Brisbane. It's great having a wide variety of savory and sweet options to choose from as well as a range of refreshing and/or indulgent drinks. It's always worthwhile looking around the store section as well for some special vegan goodies to take home.

one of my favourites!!! - Edit
I went here years ago and it was just some groceries and smoothies - then it revamped and moved and became so good! great menu listings and a variety of drinks. I really enjoyed having French toast, salted caramel again etc. Also grocery store with large range and some baked goods. So much to choose from! I even got a vegan neenish. Staff were helpful. Worth returning to try different menu items.

Brilliant Vegan Store - Edit
This is one of the best vegan stores I've ever been to. They have a huge selection of mock meats and cheeses and stock both local and imported products. I tried the Fenn smoked sesame cheese which was delicious and picked up some of my favourite Linda McCartney burgers and Alter Eco quinoa chocolate. I wish I'd had time to eat at the cafe.

A Lovely Little Shop - Edit
I had the first mocha I'd ordered since going vegan here and it was the most decadent I had ever had. The pancake I ordered was simply scrumptious; the warm nutterscotch sauce nearly sent me to heaven.
Read moreAside from the food, the staff were full of smiles, seemed genuinely happy to be there, and were very helpful and accomodating.
The best part, however, was being able to eat delicious food and then stock up on all the goodies they offer in their store. It was a wonderful experience all round.

Brisbane's Original Vegan Restaurant / Grocery Store - Edit
I've been going to The Green Edge for years, to both their old location, and their newer, larger, site in Windsor. They're worth the effort to get to and have been forerunners in the vegan community in Brisbane for as long as I can remember.
Read moreThe grocery side of the store is great with a huge selection of hard-to-find vegan dry goods and frozen goods. The cafe/restaurant has a decent selection: good coffee, juices, frappes, large range of freshly baked sweets, and amazing breakfast and lunch/dinner menus. Staff are always courteous and friendly which adds to the pleasant atmosphere.
They hold regular fund-raising events for local animal welfare charities so keep an eye out for those too.
Pros: Very friendly staff, Decently priced menu with generous serving sizes, Good selection of meals and groceries
Cons: Only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, Currently only open for breakfast at 8am , Not close to cbd (close to train & buses tho)

the Green Edge is a combined vegan cafe, health food and grocery store ... I have eaten there many times by myself, with a friend and with a group from VVSQ ... the food is always great vegan food served by friendly staff ... the dry goods, cold and frozen goods are priced about the same as health food stores however it's convenient to have so much choice in one shop

Amazing food & service! - Edit
The green edge has been our vegan lifesaver. They have the best selection of groceries and great tasting food. It made transitioning to vegan so easy and we never feel like we are missing out on anything from our old diet. Highly recommend the "meatball" sub and pancakes!

Has pretty much everything - Edit
So fun to see this place on the northside. Fab range of groceries particularly snacks and things that aren't available in the big retailers or health food shops. Everything is vegan so takes the label reading out which makes the experience more fun. Cafe is fab too - avoid busy times if you can as the kitchen is small and staff few but the food homey and tasty. It feels great to support this local business.

Fantastic - Edit
The cafe food never disappoints. Love the peanut butter milkshake and "meatball sub" even an onmi I took was raving about it after. The grocery store is a great place to pick up specialty vegan items. Owners and staff always ready to help. Only issue is I always spend so much due to getting to excited by the wide range of vegan treats. The groceries are expensive but as they are from overseas and the shop isn't a chain it's understandable.

Vegan goodies hub ;) - Edit
I arrived here with a friend almost one hour after closing time on Sunday, having mixed up the times, yet Nev and his partner, who run the show, were still there finishing up and let us in to buy things.
Read moreThey have a good range of products from various parts of the world in a nice, light-looking store. Unfortunately, because a lot of products are imported, this also makes them more pricey, but many people, i think, go for a treat or a splurge, rather than as a weekly shop.
This was the first time i'd driven to this incarnation of the store, and was a bit worried i might not get parking on the small street you enter on. As it turns out, they have their own little parking area, which was great for the time we arrived.
If you got there when the store was busy, though, i guess you'd likely have to find somewhere else.
We can be thankful we get access to the range of products The Edge offers, including a variety of frozen and refrigerated goods, and do it all in a store dedicated to vegan food and other products.
Pros: friendly owners, fair range, right next to vegan cafe
Cons: bit pricey, not warehouse size ; ), parking limited
