A hobbit feast! - Edit
We were here on international hobbits day for the feast. It was a buffet, everything was clearly labeled. We already gave our dietary restrictions at the reservation, which they also took into account. We could just use the buffet and ask someone about dessert.
Read moreThere are a lot of vegetables, the rosemary potatoes and another dish which you can see in the pictures which was tasty. Afterwards we asked for dessert in which we got a huge plate with fruit, a cupcake and two chocolate cake slices.
There was also food at the market, but I didn’t check that out because I was stuffed after the buffet.

Amazing vegan spread - Edit
Staff were incredible and we were given so much vegan food, plus there were quite a few extra options up at the buffet itself. Definitely mention when you book online that you’re vegan and if you have any allergies, they emailed back confirming everything, promised we would still get to have a feast worthy of a Hobbit, & then customised so much food for us we couldn’t actually finish it all. Both lunch and sweets were delicious. 10/10 would eat there again.

Surprising Vegan Options - Edit
Honestly, we weren't expecting any vegan options at The Green Dragon Inn, so it was a delightful surprise to find a vegan-labeled kumara and cashew pie! We enjoyed it immensely by the cozy fire, along with our complimentary drink from the Hobbiton tour. Such a lovely atmosphere!

Not much choice but a lovely experience - Edit
Had a cider and a pie here as part of the Hobbiton set tour, which was a great experience overall! There was a small selection of things like scones, muffins and pies but I could only see one vegan option - one of the pies. Would have been nice to have a vegan muffin option or something but the pie was tasty at least :)

Vegan feast - Edit
You get a F*N HUGE plate of rustic Hobbit veg, and the vegetable pot pie served at the table is also vegan, and it's the best thing too so don't miss it. The main clear is followed by a F*N HUGE dessert plate with fresh cut fruit and cakes. If you eat it all you'll probably die, but it'll be a good death.

Hope you love po-ta-toes because that is the main option for vegans at the green dragon! Mashed, roasted, paired with additional roasted vegetables. Dinner rolls are vegan - best item on the table was a butternut squash stuffed with salsa. The experience here is amazing - staff take dietary needs very seriously and brought us a separate vegan plate. Dessert was a chocolate date cake with caramel sauce that was 10/10.

Felt like a Hobbit - Edit
The banquet room is very cozy and there are several vegan options like mentioned above. I had roasted vegetables and potatoes, braised mushrooms, and kumara mash. Everything tasted very good but was not warm anymore when the banquet started. Before the tour began I had emailed them that I am vegan, so I had my own plate with even more vegetables and vegan sausages and as a dessert I had my own little cake with lots of fruits. The staff was super nice and very helpful.
