Maybe I made it on an unlucky day

Judging by previous reviews - it could be that I just got unlucky (a random Thursday afternoon). First up I want to mention that staff were relatively lovely and if they weren’t it would’ve been a 1-star.

My Mum and I came for a late lunch and I had the homemade bagel veganised; flavours were great but the bread was SO TOUGH I really had to rip it with my whole head. My omni mum liked her meal but thought it was a bit too salty. I actually came to The Green Bakery intending to get pastries (eg pies), but the display cabinet had a tiny fly buzzing around inside which put me off….

We were also the only two patrons in the bakery yet the food took quite a while to come out - I could see that they were busy with baking cake orders however!

Speaking of cakes, I also got a heavily overpriced small slice of cake (red velvet) which was unfortunately dry. Icing also quickly melted (to be fair I took it home to eat so it melted in the car).

Hoping that the fresh-to-order vegan cakes are good!! Unfortunately I wouldn’t come again 😔

Pros: Nice staff, Kinda cute courtyard eating area

Cons: DON’T get the homemade bagel, Dry extremely overpriced cake slices

Custom Cake order

The Green Bakery very quickly responded to my request for a vegan cake without coconut and was ready within a few days. They can accommodate different fillings such as berry compote but this isn’t clear on the website you have to ask.
Would be nice if there were more vegan cake flavours
The chocolate cake was nice but a little on the dry side!
Previous occasions had their cup cakes which are nice

Overall a hidden gem

Pros: Range of vegan cup cakes and custom cakes , Respond quickly

Cons: More custom cake flavours

Hidden cute bakery

I’ve been working in Artarmon for years now and never knew about this place today. Had a brownie and a pie and both are very good. Lots of vegan options!

Super surprise

How has this been here for 18 months without me hearing about it?! Fantastic little cafe where almost everything is vegan. They even do vegan Devonshire Tea (tea with fresh scones, cream and jam) and high teas. On a random industrial street in Artarmon, it’s a hidden gem!

Pros: Vegan pies and sausage rolls, Vegan cakes, Lovely owner

Cons: Bit far from train station but worth it, Still a small bit of dairy

Sweet or savoury, it’s all good

I tried two pies and some baked sweet goods there. It was all delicious and vegan and I would definitely go again

What a gem

OMG how was this place not already on Happy Cow earlier and how did I not know about it. Beautiful bakery/cafe tucked away in an unlikely area of Artarmon for food but well worth seeking out.
Beautifully decorated with some peaceful outdoor tables and a fun interior. More importantly, the cakes and cupcakes are stunning to look at (and all made on site) and to die for when you taste them. I can't wait to come back and try more of them as well as some of the savoury offerings like pies and soup.
The owner is so lovely and has created a wonderful, welcoming, almost entirely vegan sanctuary in this area.
