It was okay... - Edit
The Grassy Hopper is one of those places who are more concerned with serving 'trendy' vegan food than actual tasty, substantial meals. At least in my opinion. A lot of the food was raw (Malta is very behind on the times and seem to be just catching up with this trend) and they served funny sweet potato and carrot chips rather than potato chips. Sure, I can't really blame them for trying to be different and offer healthy alternatives but when you're the only half decent place to buy vegan food for miles around, you should offer real substantial food rather than soggy, tasteless alternatives that tasted as if they've been sat around for hours.
I ordered the lentil burrito which was actually tasty. The 'cheese' was made from cashews and they had a beef-style filling made from pulses and grains. The inside of the burrito was very good but the tortilla was a bit hard and chewy. I know I sound very critical and mean but I had a traumatic experience trying to find nice food in Valletta, and I want these guys to improve, okay?
Despite their weird menu and behind-the-times trend, it was okay. The staff were friendly, the place was clean (waayyyy better than Gugar. Don't go to Gugar) and the burrito was nice so I'll give them that.
If you like their sweet treats I'd 100% recommend their sister bakery, Theobroma, a couple of streets along.
Pros: Tasty burrito, Clean
Cons: Need to offer more substantial food, More flavours needed

Excellent Choice - Edit
Located right in the middle of Valletta this is an excellent choice. The food was very tasty, the portions large, the surroundings very nice (upstairs dining area is even better) cost was very reasonable and the staff were friendly and engaging.
Pros: Food, Cost, Staff
Cons: Limited hours

Best vegan place in Malta! - Edit
If you are vegan and you in Malta go to Grassy Hopper, we had breakfast and lunch there every day, and we had no regrets or doubts. The food is always fresh and tasty, portions are big and very affordable prices.

Delicious food with large portions - Edit
Great food in the heart of Valetta. I had lentil noodles with peanut sauce and veggies and it was a very nicely balanced meal. The portions were also pretty large and I had to share my meal. Highly recommend.
Pros: Taste, portion size
Cons: None

Nice spot - Edit
Good place, tasty food and friendly staff. Malta doesn't have that many vegan options so I really recommend this place :)

Good food, too small - Edit
Great food, pretty much all vegan. A bit more frantic than the Gzira branch and can get so busy people get turned away. We had to wait a while for or burgers but they were well worth it when they came.

Pros: Almost all vegan, Good tasty food, Inexpensive

Absolutely lovely! - Edit
The restaurant in Valletta is small, but the food is delicious! I had a Mexican wrap (my husband had the falafel one) and we shared a gorgeous salad of quinoa and avocado (among other things!). They serve raw desserts (also available at a small hole-in-the-wall called Theobroma, which we visited several times, during our stay in Valletta). A must visit if you are in this part of the world!
Pros: The food!, The desserts!, The atmosphere!

Probably the best vegetarian place in Valletta - Edit
Highly recommend this place.
Enjoyed everything: staff was very friendly, explained about the food and it's origin, food was very tasty, made from natively grown products, prices are not high, big dishes portions, nicely decorated inside. You can get soups, burgers, wraps, desserts, various juices.
The place was very popular during dinner time and full of people however the food was prepared and served quickly.

Nice place, good food. - Edit
We liked the place, I recommend the chickpea burger but didn't enjoy the sweet potato one.
The prices are okay for Malta.

Grassy Hopper is a Topper - Edit
Small takeaway outlet with a small menu; but a good range of items. We had lentil and salad wraps - really tasty and great value. Seemed popular and well worth a visit.
Pros: Interesting range, Friendly staff
Cons: Limited opening hours
