Great coffee but not so family friendly - Edit
The coffee indeed is incredible and special but my boyfriend had a very unpleasent experience with our baby there. He was putting on a _clean_ diaper for our daughter when the owners ran out of the kitchen southing and screaming what the hell are you doing. We had done it a few times before and it wasn't a problem so he got really shocked of such an approach. Sure we understand hygienic aspect (though the baby and the diaper were both completely clean) but its about how you express yourself, you can also say politely. So, its a shame to leave such a great place but no going back anymore and wouldn't recommend for others either if you've got babies :(
Pros: Excellent coffee
Cons: Unfriendly attitude

Your friend in need - Edit
The best place to get breakfast in Budapest. The owners are really friendly and charming, and sometimes you might even see a pup.
Pros: Great hours - opens early

An oasis of healthy vegetarian food and coffee - Edit
The Goat Herder is a beautifully designed espresso bar in District VII, with friendly people and a cool atmosphere. Owned and managed by an English couple - one of which is a vegetarian - they have many veggie options, including:
- Delicious daily soups freshly made each day (with lots of Thai and Indian flavours).
- A selection of toasted wraps, including: a) brie, walnut and apple, b) homemade hummus, grated carrot, black olives and cucumber, c) roasted mediterranean vegetables with sundried tomatoes and feta. All wraps have homemade pesto and ruccola inside.
- Salads with homemade dressings
- Bircher muesli and fresh fruit
- Homemade cakes and cookies
They have a selection of gluten-free cakes each week too!
The staff all have a full understanding of vegetarianism and veganism. Food can be customised for vegans (wraps made without pesto/feta etc). Without any customisation, their vegan options include:
- Vegetable dippers (homemade hummus with carrot and celery dippers)
- Salads
- Cold soups if they're available (gazpacho or pea and mint)
- Fruit salad
In addition to the food, speciality single origin coffee is a big hit - some of the best in Budapest! They use farm fresh milk, plus have soya milk and lactose free milk.
The owners really care about quality and ethics. All eggs are organic (bio) and their milk, butter and yoghurt is from a local farm. Their take away packaging is made from either vegetable starch (compostable and biodegradable) or from recycled paper / sustainable forests. Some customers bring in plastic containers for their take aways, which is really good.
I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
