Serves meat, vegan options available. Inn offering a few vegan items such as lentil soup, sandwich, gnocchi and burger. Booking required for evening meals. Open Mon-Sun 10:00-23:00.
Glenelg Inn has a real chef. The vegan options change and are imaginative. Not run of the mill. And if ordering the ordinary it may just turn out to be the best the best hummus you've ever had. They do both a vegetarian and a vegan sticky toffee pudding. One of the best restaurants in the area.
Stopped off for lunch on a work trip and was pleasantly surprised that there was more than one option on the menu! As stated in other reviews there were 2 starters, a sandwich and 3 mains. Not sure on puddings. I had the falafel and quinoa salad and it was really good. (From someone who wouldn't usually order a salad from a restaurant!). Also the home made chips are divine.
The Inn is a gorgeous traditional Scottish pub that also serves as accommodation with a restaurant. Recommend booking in advance in summer. I emailed beforehand to check what their options were, and received a thorough response from their head chef, Scott. He assured me that they usually have 2-3 mains, a soup for starter, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Some dishes are veggie but can be made vegan. Staff are lovely and welcoming. It is a bit pricey but it’s a small village and the food is genuinely brilliant. Highly recommend!
Vegetarian and vegan options are clearly visible on their menu. They usually have 1-2 starters and 2-3 main dishes suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Staff is friendly and forthcoming. Prices are on the higher end to what we have expereinced in the rest of scotland but that is to be expected in a good restaurant that is that remote and the food is worth it.
Booking a table beforehand was recommended and no problem via mail. As mobile network is a bit spotty in the region the Inn's WiFi was much appreciated.
Our dog had enough space to lie down beside the table.
